I'm in need of something to read. Any suggestions? NO FANTASY. To get an idea these are some of the books I recently read...

-Post American World

-A Dirty Job/Christopher Moore

-Slaughterhouse 5/Kurt Vonnequt

-Enders Game/Orson Scott Card

Why is Fantasy so different than Ender's Game? Anyway, read Asimov: Foundation series. Read all the rest of Vonnegut, like Breakfast of Champions and Cat's Cradle. Read some Crichton like Andromeda Strain, Sphere, and Eaters of the Dead. Top it off with Snow Crash and Zodiac by Neal Stephenson.

There's actually a lot of Ender's Game sequels out there. I've read a lot of them and they're all pretty good. Maybe try reading some of these?

I've actually read them all, I just threw that in there so you had an idea of what I liked. And yes, I find fantasy to be much different than Ender's Game. I used to read a lot of fantasy but over time I've come to feel it's a one trick pony.

I feel the same way about both Sci Fi and Fantasy. There's rarely anything unique anymore... then again, I've read a lot. Ender's Game isn't unique, he's just a good writer, and that's what I look for.

the halo novels are always good reads if you want to know the backround of many of the characters in the games.

Own Maddox' book, was hilarious. I think I'll check out Donnie Brasco since I haven't read a mob book in about 6 years. Awesome movie too.

Yeah, they are easy reads that's for sure. I read Blindless - Jose Saramago when it first came out, now there is a tough read. Paragraphs a page long, no indication of who is speaking. Good book though.

I looked it up. It actually DOES sound good. Unexpected blindness disaster? I love disaster stories. If you like disaster stories, you should try Lucifer's Hammer or The White Plague. Though, Lucifer's Hammer should come first.
