Luckily, my teeth have always been the essence of perfection. *brags*
Anyways, I've heard people say when they remove the expander after you're done with braces, pieces of meat from meals of previous months fall from it.
I got my braces on 2 weeks ago. The first 4 days suck. The rest after that, you can't even feel them. Until they adjust them again, of course. Also, try not to break a bracket on the first day like me. Avoid eating for the rest of the day after the appointment if possible :)
It takes a while to get used to them. Although, some people deal with them much better than others, as some teeth aren't as bad as others, while others will be doing a lot more moving. Also, some people have higher tolerances of discomfort than others, so I can't really say how you'll manage.
Just expect this: soreness that comes out of no where. Sometimes you'll have very painful tightenings, other times they won't bother you at all. Also expect to occasionally have a wire snap and poke you in your cheek or gums. They'll also feel very alien when you wake up the next morning.
When you get them off, though, the feeling of smooth, straight teeth will be absolutely incredible. Also, WEAR YOUR RETAINER! Keep it up, and if it's too uncomfortable, get your orthodontist to adjust it. I ruined my teeth by not wearing it because I didn't like it.
Why are we so similar!? :shock:It takes a while to get used to them. I wore mine like everyday for about a year then it broke, so I stopped wearing it. My teeth moved back a little bit. Overall though, mine are still straight. That sucks yours got messed up after all the time wearing braces. :(

Which is funny... cuz they wanted to sue me for their money back.
Bracers are terrible! However the new ones seem better, there are some that are barely visible, but it must still hurt like hell to eat after he tightens them.
I also hate the feel of cold in my teeth's nerve when he removed the glue after removing the braces. Getting braces won't hurt, but an hour later it will.
Hahahahaha! Sucks... horribly...
Yeah, make sure to take one of those pills soldiers carry to kill themselves if they get captured by the enemy.
I've never had them but my sister did. She said it hurts when it first gets put on there and during every readjustment.
Cant you get the invisiline stuff?
And I dont know, some people still get lucky with braces on. If you got it flaunt it is what I always say.

But you don't actually flaunt it. :(
I had them put on this morning and now theyre F*cking Sore as Hell!!!
And i cant get the invisiline cuz evidently i have too much "crowding" between my teeth, and eventually i have to get one Pulled:x
but no expanders and no bands and i only need these on for 18mos, and it seems i picked one o the best ortho's in the country, who conveniently 5mins from my house
This is the compliment I give girls with braces, I say this, "your smile is so beautiful it has to be a crime that's why your teeth are behind bars." Go ahead, you could use it, it works everytime. Thank me later.
