Meh, ever felt that?

Too lazy to do anything except sleep, go to the toilet and use the internet.

Other than that all life is boring. Amotivational syndrome

Anyone else felt too bothered to do anything in his life at some point?

How'd you get over it? (if you did)

Get out there and do shit. Once you are there You will be glad you did. Never let laziness be your excuse for anything. Force yourself.

easier said than done. That initial hurdle, at least for me, of just going out there and doing stuff is a mighty one. Once I am up and about I feel great and I get a lot done because I am a really productive person, and I wish future-me would remember how that feels when he is apathetic, but it's tough.

Lazy isn't the right word. It is much, much worse than that.

@mrbojangles25: I can be the same way. I am always glad when I do get out there so that's the advice I give. It is certainly easier said than done but a positive mental additude goes a long way and is worth cultivating in one's self. I need to give myself the same advice all the time.

You might want to see a doctor. You may think that you're just feeling lazy but an underlying medical condition may be causing it.

I'm 31 and I hardly ever felt lazy to do anything. I'm always active when I get up early in the morning if it's going to work, playing my games, playing with my daughter, or just about anything that pops up in my head, I'm always active. The only time I might be lazy to do anything is coming home from work and don't wanna do anything other then to play my games or watch anime.

I feel very lazy sometimes. I counter that by actually having shit to get done. Even if I feel lazy, the consequences of not getting the shit done I that need to motivates me.

The only thing I would say is I'm too lazy to do is to get up an hour and a half earlier to go work out. I sometimes value my sleep way too much and it's what keeps me from going at 5 in the morning.

I've gotten pretty lazy... I need to go to the gym but I havent in 3 years...

Im not fat at all, so I dont have like urgency, but Im now im noticing im losing toneness (not that I was defined or tone to begin with, but now its getting really soft and scrawny).

One reason tho why I stepped away from working out was because I've had wrist problems too.

I felt like this a week ago.

I was basically getting up everyday and just getting on the computer. I had very little interest in hanging out or doing anything productive. I sort of realize how crappy I was being, so now I'm going back to the gym and trying to get out more.

I think as you get older you realize it's ok to feel that way honestly. If you feel like you are forcing yourself to get out there maybe you need to take a step back a bit. I wouldn't worry about it too much. You are young your life isn't going to pass you by if you don't feel like doing much right this second. Maybe it's your body just saying you need to take a step back a bit.

I think people overemphasize the rat race in general. Obviously you don't want to get too stuck but life isn't going to end if you don't feel like doing much right now.

The rat race isn't all that interesting all the time honestly. People get boring. So do jobs. That's life. Sometimes it's good to refresh yourself. Especially today. There is so much over saturation of crap in general.

There is nothing medically wrong with you. That's half the issue with over saturation in general. It's completely normal. Don't be a slave. Think about what you actually just said. Who doesn't feel that way sometimes?

People who don't realize it's ok usually end up having a mental breakdown at some point in their life.

Eh, I don't know. Sounds like you might have too much free time. For me, working 40 hours and maintaining a house is a lot of work. If you put enough on your plate, you pretty much force yourself to appreciate the free time you do have.

A lot of people are driven by guilt though. It's true. You feel like you are letting people down if you dont feel like doing crap. Honestly time off is good if you feel that way. Learn to smell the roses and make time off more a positive thing.

If you think not feeling like doing much is a bad thing and not normal you need to check yourself before you wreck yourself.

@magicalclick:

You need to take citicoline, Google that and buy some from say ...amazon.com.

Citicoline is a natural stimulant that energizes you and improves your brain functions. Unless you eat liver and cows brains you probably don't get enough.

It's popular with college students as it boosts memory as well.

I've done alot of research on nutrition since I beat cancer. You should also exercise every day, if you are in the northern hemisphere it's summer find a local park and go walking or biking.

I do that but get aload of car exhaust fumes or sig smoke blown in my face. Sometimes I think why bother going for a walk. But I do go out 3 times a day 30 mins about 4 mile a day. Not including walking around the house. Last week I have felt even better though doing a bit of push ups. I only do about 8 on a morning it gets you going. I would do more but docs don't recommend it as more chance of getting a hernia or something.

if I feel boring I'll try to do something else, even if it's just feed the birds or watch the news (while standing up). Sometimes i just even watch a movie but if I that find that too boring I really need to move, sometimes I just even walk 20 laps around the house, but that's very rare. I mostly get enough bodily movement from doing chores.

OP you sound like 99% of the population born in the 90s. Everything has been given to you.Life has been easy. Your struggles are a joke compared to people of other generations. Get off your arss, find your place in this world and quit crying about how bad you have it...cause you dont even know HOW bad it gets.

I finally stopped being lazy. I used to weigh around 195 pounds 10 years ago. Fast forward to 10 days ago I finally got on a scale and found out I weigh 226 pounds. My current set of pants/shorts were getting tight on me and it really bothered me that about every other summer/fall I buy slightly wider clothes. I'm done wearing 36 inch waist pants. I'm determined to get back down to 31/32 waist like I was before I got married.

With 2 kids, 2 dogs and a wife now....I've just let myself go. I'm always too tired to play much with the kids or do more than a mile walk with the dogs. I purchased running shoes (I used to run 10 years ago and work out - hit the heavy bag) about 4 months ago and never used them.

I'm tired of feeling lazy, overweight and tired so I finally got off my ass and took the dog on a run (one dog is 2, the other is 12 and he wouldn't do well to go on a run with his bad hips). I thought I was going to die after running a mile....in the past 10 days, I've ran 6 of those days and I feel better (aside from dealing with shin splints). I'm down to 219 and I plan on hitting 215 by Monday. First 3 days I ran, it was for a mile. The last 3 days has been for 1.5 miles. So, starting on Monday I plan on running 2 miles.

I've cut out pop and almost all alcohol from my diet. I stopped drinking pop last December and as time went on, I found alcohol less and less attractive since I have nothing to mix it in. I never drank a lot in any given day. I hate getting drunk because you feel like shit the next day, but I enjoyed having a drink or two a night when mixed with pop because it tasted good. Add that up over a week and I've easily gone through 10-14 cans of pop and half a liter of (rum/whiskey/vodka/etc) in that week just on mixed drinks, that doesn't take into consideration the pop I drank during the day. In all honesty, I can say I probably easily went through a couple gallons of pop a week. I'm not putting that crap in me anymore and I can say with 100% certainty that I don't miss pop.

If you're not physically ill (as one poster above about kidney issues), it's all a mind set. Time to do something. Shit, download Pokemon GO and take your lazy ass on a walk or try something you don't normally do (wall/mountain climbing - find a facility near you and be active or get on your bike and go in a direction you don't normally go). If my lazy ass can do it, most anyone else can. I'm actually pretty psyched about shedding weight and I can't wait to go on a run tonight (even though the thought of shin splints makes me shudder).

I come home after a 12-14 hour work day feeling like that. Sucks too, because I have a huge backlog of games to play but not the motivation nor energy to play them.

If you're seeking support and love from random people on an internet forum that's a problem right there. I'm speaking from experience also - I'often feel the way you described in your post and I'm going nowhere in life and opportunities are passing me by, much of which is a direct result of my lack of motivation.

@TehFuneral: I was like that for YEARS. I started going hiking and then eventually I bought a mountain bike. Try hiking if there's any trails near your house. It's relaxing and good exercise.
