Mine are Braveheart and Game of Thrones. (I realize it's only been one season but for me it's the best thing I've ever watched period. Just like the books are the best I've ever read. And yes that makes me a serious fanatic)

If you like Hugh Laurie in House check out Blackadder, a sitcom he was on during the 80's, particularly the 3rd and 4th series where he's a main cast member.
