The History channel made a bad list. This is what the list should of looked like 10 - Springfield 1903 9 - Kar 98k 8 - M1 Garand 7 - Lee Enfield 6 - FN FAL 5 - IMI Galil 4 - M14 3 - G36 2 - FN SCAR 1 - Tavor 21

Your list is wrong because lack of an AK-47...

I was thinking that. No AK-47 = fail.

Well, in this day and age it's not nearly worthy of the top 10. For it's influence? Perhaps, but if we're talking pure quality it's not near the top at all. Then again the M16 wouldn't be there either in that case. :P

[QUOTE="thebluebox"]I knew AK-47 idiots would sufficate this thread. I wouldn't trust the AK in any situation, unless the guy is 20 ft or less

Even so, there is no other gun that you can leave at the bottom of a lake in Russia for 2 years. Pull it out, load it and it will fire first time.

I know the AK is vastly outmatched by todays standards but you have to look really at the history of that gun. Designed for the massive conscript Russian army, its lasted for years. Been through many models, it really is a great gun. Personally I'd reach for the AK over any other gun just for its realiabity.

It still better than any gun which dosn't work, so for combat in environments where you're likely to be frozen in a lake the AK47 is a great rifle. Nothing can said to be better than another without context.

Another reason I didn't put the AK-47 in the list, is cuz I believe the AK is more of a machine gun than a rifle. An M16 is a rifle

There have been models that are machine guns. The M16 is a assualt rifle. The M1 is a rifle.
