Mine (along with their directors) are:

1. Pulp Fiction (Quentin Tarantino)
2. The Godfather (Francis Ford Coppola)
3. The Shawshank Redemption (Frank Darabont)
4. Saving Private Ryan (Steven Spielberg)
5. Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa)
6. The Shining (Stanley Kubrick)
7. Taxi Driver (Martin Scorsese)
8. Forrest Gump (Robert Zemekis)
9. Scarface (Brian De Palma
10. Fargo (The Coen Brothers)

I had a really tough time determining this list and I tried to diversify it was much as possible, limiting myself to only what I considered the best work by the listed directors. If you haven't seen any of these movies ... or better yet most of the movies made by each director, do yourself a favor and view them all immediately!
Please share you top ten in this thread

It's hard for me to choose from these:

Only Yesterday
Amelie
City of God
Spirited Away
Whisper of the Heart
Cinema Paradiso
Oldboy
The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly

Yeah it's not ten movies, but I really don't have other ones to choose. I always love movies that make me feel good inside. I don't really see many people with my taste in movies around, but I actually like that. I love to see some romance while I watch movies sometimes. The ones that aren't romance like The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly are just fun for me to watch, and I like the way Oldboy and City of God were filmed and the action  stories too.

My favorite three are completely action-packed films. 1. The Rock 2. Face/Off 3. Con Air As you may have guessed, I like Nicholas Cage, but I like his older movies better. Next, in no particular order. Die Hard: With a Vengeance Memento Scarface I'll think of a few more later.

Your right...it's all opinion. But the reason why my list is nothing compared to all the others' is because I don't see very many movies in my life, the rate in which I go to the movie theater is like once every 1-2 months...that's not very much.

I don't know if these are the top ten best I have ever seen, but they are the most enjoyed movies I have experienced throughout my life.

In random order

1.The Crow  (Brandon Lee was perfect in that film, it is too bad he ran out of time)

2. Star Wars (I was completely obsessed as a child with this movie)

3. Jaws (made me afraid to swim in open waters as a child)

4. Fight Club (two of the best acting performances I have seen ever)

5. Saving Private Ryan (completely blew me away when I watched it in the theater)

6. Superman 1 (always have liked that movie, and appreciate its twist on religion and God)

7. The Warriors (loved the action, the characters, and the constant reminder of death waiting around every corner)

8. Terminator 2 (1 was great, but 2 made appreciate everything about the story and characters)

9. Se7en ( that was the first time I remember being disgusted, informed, and intrigued all at once)

10. Good Will Hunting (very strong acting, story seemed very human, and have always enjoyed it)

honorable mentions :  too many to list that is for sure.  Just because I didn't list a lot of the movies that are obvious choices doesn't mean I don't think they are great films.  I have noticed a lot of great picks from everyone else though.
