OMG... someone else know's who Poets of the Fall is. :o
Mine are Avenged Sevenfold, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Snow Patrol.
1. Nightrage
2. Frozen Glare
3. Opeth
I have also various other favorite bands, but these are the top 3.
1. Alice in Chains
2. Soundgarden
I really have only two (when it comes to rock/metal/alt/etc). That and I used to think Soundgarden was the better band, however, after delving deeply into Alice in Chains' discography, I have come to the conclusion that they are the superior band. Chris Cornell is still superior as a vocalist to Layne Staley, but Alice in Chains is the superior band.
However, neither Soundgarden nor Chris Cornell has actually made me cry when listening to one of their songs. Alice in Chains' "Nutshell" made me cry earlier today. Once I made the connection between Staley's chronic depression and the lyrics, I just started crying.
Lyrics:
We chase misprinted lies
We face the path of time
And yet I fight
And yet I fight
This battle all alone
No one to cry to
No place to call home
Oooh...oooh...
Oooh...oooh...
My gift of self is raped
My privacy is raked
And yet I find
And yet I find
Repeating in my head
If I cant be my own
Id feel better dead
Oooh...oooh...
Oooh...oooh...
After what happened today, I have reconsidered my position on Staley and am now somewhat on the fence about who is the better vocalist. Staley has range and emotion, Cornell has range, styIe and variety.

Have you listened to Cornell's solo albums?
That's an impossible thing to ask of us. I'll list the three bands I've been listening to lately:
1. The Mars Volta
2. Mastodon
3. Marcus Miller
If you haven't heard of any of these, try them out. Three different genres, so you might like one.

If or when you do, check out the album Euphoria Morning. It really brings out his vocal talent. There's also a bonus track on there somewhere called "sunshower" that remains my favorite song by Cornell. Hope that helps. :P
