wasnt usa 3 trillion dollars in debt or something?SaL_92
That is because the U.S. spends more money than earned.
that list is a load of crap, america is in the hole by around a trillion dollars atleastlinkin_guy109
Obviously not. Lists don't lie. Especially lists on the internet.

Im pretty sure that if they entered national debt into the equation, the US would be lower on the list.

The US wouldn't be anywhere close to being on the list.
I think Canada might go up on the list. They have the second largest oil reserves after Saudi Arabia right now, and they're starting to really pump it out with the rise in demand. Granted they're severely under-charging the American companies who are paying to dig it out, and it's not benefiting the country too much currently.Robertoey
The Oil Sands are an economic boon but otherwise are pretty much a disaster in every way possible. If Canada is smart you'll get a headstart of renewables because thats where energy generation is eventually going and the technology for this is maturing at an amazing rate.

Think it all you want, it won't make it true. Just accept the list, you're making a scene.

Yeap any smart country that wants to be viable in the next 50yrs will need to start getting renewable energy going pretty soon.

If it's not to late already.

Yep.
I wonder if that list counted debt. America has a debt several times larger than its GDP.
In private wealth, America surely deserves its place. Its wealth isn't anywhere near as evenly distributed as the other nations on the list; I'll bet you that America has a much greater ratio of people living in poverty than any of the other top 10. America has the basically all the ultra-rich people in the world though.
It must be wealth per person in the country. There's no way Luxembourg can outspend everyone....SolidSnake35
Yeah, Luxembourg is a tiny country, but its GDP per capita is much higher than anyone else in the world.

Hey when did Norway end up at third place? We should be nr 1.horgen123
Its GDP per capita, so countries like Norway and Luxembourg with small, rich populations will top the charts. And if debt was taken into consideration, the US would be even further down the list (assuming you're American) :)
