The Avatar backlash isn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be. You guys used to rip that movie apart. For that matter, the Toy Story 3 backlash is far more severe then I was expecting. You guys used to praise it like it was the second coming of Jesus himself.
The only thing Avatar had going for it was that is was mildly pretty. The characters and story were absolutely terrible...and it went on and on and was so boring. I haven't even seen Toy Story 3 but I'm sure it's a lot better.
In the first watching Avatar had a wow factor, after watching it on TV it was an overly long movie with plot holes and a boring story. Toy Story stuck with a good formula and it worked, and in my opinion was just as good the second time watching as the first. Point goes to Toy Story 3.
All Avatar had was pretty colours and 3D that actually works. Toy Story 3 is a brilliant work of art that has an excellent story and characters that you could connect to emotionally, this is a film that can and will stand the test of time.
i hated avatar so god damn much that movie is a abomination made by james Cameron i dont even want that movie put in the same sentence as toy story( although of the three i thought TS 3 was the weakest)
TS3 because of the a.) nostalgia value for me and b.) of the emotional side of it. I was bawling at the end... and I'm an extremely cynical 14-year-old.

toy story 3 was too dramatic boohoo-ish for me, too many nudge nudge references to the old movies done in a cheesey way, and it was just nonstop action almost. not as clever as the ones before, and the parts that were "clever" it seemed like they just tried too hard. it was sort of cheesey not in a good way.
