Have the books, haven't read them; I wonder if the existence of this adaptation owes anything to the TV adaptation of the Terry Goodkind Sword of Truth novels (aka Legend of the Seeker)

haha, I doubt it. Legend of the Seeker only very loosely paid lip service to the books. In the beginning it followed it a bit more, but basically it was xena/hercules in Terry Goodkind's basic world. I honestly attribute the attention to detail they seem to be giving it more to the Lord of the Rings movies... which would have made a pretty darn good episodic show. Perhaps even better than the movies, yes, perhaps.

Maybe I should take it out then, since I pretty strongly disliked the Goodkind novels that I read :P

Yeah, I got seriously burnt out by the third, and stopped after the fifth... Back in high school reading was all I did, so it was much easier to waste time reading a mediocre series than these days >_> Anyway, if you liked the xena/hercules style of show back in the day, you'll like Legend of the Seeker. It's got a lot (all?) of the same influences.

So far I've read the first book and liked it a lot.

I'll get around to the others when I have time, it's very exciting that they're making a TV series about it. I hope it turns out well.

The only thing that pisses me off about Netflix is they have seasons 1 and 2 of Dexter online. But I have to wait for one disc containing three episodes to come in the mail for seasons 3 and 4.

If only I had HBO :(

I'll keep my excitement in check until I get a chance to see an episode. Fingers crossed that it turns out good.

If he concentrated more on writing 'A dance with dragons' and less with taking interviews for this HBO series-I might stop wanting to bludgeon him to death...:x

I care more about when A Dance of dragons comes out. How long has he been writing that for now? Christ on a badger he takes a while. For those who have read it, what did you think of the 4th book A Feast for crows? Most didnt like it but I thought it was very good even though not much seemed to happen and a lot of characters were introduced I didnt care as much about.
