I agree. But they're two COMPLETELY different kinds of movies. Can't really be compared.

They're both comedies.

And besides, even if they were totally different, that doesn't mean we can't say that one's better than the others. Unforgiven is different than Snoop Dogg's Hood Of Horror. Yet, anyone who says that Hood Of Horror is better than Unforgiven needs to be slapped in the face.

Trainspotting wasn't a comedy? Really?!

If nothing else, the feces gags should've been a big hint. As well as shooting the dog in the ass and getting it to maul its owner.

Trainspotting was ****ing hilarious.

If you want to perceive it as a hilarious comedy, fine. But just because it had some dark humour and a few laughs, I wont.

I see American Pie as more of a teen movie, without much of a reason other then to make teens want to go see it after school and laugh at people they could relate too, where as Trainspotting as more of a....I dont even remember, it's been over 10 years since I saw that movie, but I dont remember it as a teen movie, more as a british film for adults to relate too. They are both made for different crowds, so, I consider them different categories, and not comparable. But thats just me...and I guess the majority of the people posting in this topic.....

Nonetheless, it's a pretty random, arbitrary, uninformative and generally useless comparison to make
