transformers 3 ok for a 9 year old ?

My dad doesn't know wheither he should take my little brother or not. my brother has seen movies like iron man 2 and lord of the rings. (though I'm not sure I would have let him see them if it were up to me). what do you guys think ?

I don't think you should judge by age alone, it depends on his maturity. If he still laughs at fart jokes and hasn't had much experience with other PG-13 movies, then I'd say no. Transformers 3 can be a litle sugestive, and the violence is much more outright then before (especially towards humans).

So I'd say let him watch Transformers 1 if anything, gauge his reaction and how mature he was towards it, then let him watch 3 if he's mature enough.

Absolutely. The way it was scripted, you'd think it would have actually been made for a 9 year old.

You're forgetting Transformers 2.

Lot more violent than the previous two films... Scenes where humans are just getting vaporized and characters getting executed...

But it isn't real... So as long as you establish that I don't see how it could be harmful to them.

I haven't even seen Transformers 2 yet :(.But I did love Transformers 3,one of my favourite "popcorn" movies.

it was pretty violent, like humans getting shot and their flesh getting turned to ash by some fancy ray gun, leaving only a skeleton behind.

But so was Lord of the Rings. So I'd argue its ok for him to see it.

I was watching movies like Aliens and The Thing by the time that I was 7.

So...it all depends on the kid in question. I can't tell you, since I don't know the kid.

Although I'd say that the Lord of the Rings movies actually got fairly dark and scary at certain parts. And if he could handle that, I don't see Transformers really being a big issue.

But again...I don't know the kid. You do. Do YOU think that the kid is mature enough to watch a Transformers movie?
