Of course, I grew up on it. Although, I have a feeling I'll nit-pick it to death.

Definitely looking forward to it. I don't even care if they don't look like the way they did back in the 80s'.  Still looks like a blast.

Ack....I'm starting to dread how Hollywood MANGLES my childhood heroes.  None of the backstories or origins match anymore and I usually can't say that the new ones are as good as the originals.  The latest Batman and Spideys being the exceptions.  The first Superman was good too, although I'm sick of seeing Luthor as his opponent (in both the comics and movies).

i have to say this, beast wars was better than all the others, the cars were ok, but the beast wars were gold, they even won an emmy.

I can kinda understand where you're coming from, but of course the filmakers change the origins to bring in a wider audience, not just the diehard fans who grew up with them.

Actually, on their official site, they have the writers of the movie answering questions from fans. They basically said that they stuck to the story since they grew up watching Transformers "religiously" according to one of them. And a huge battle in the street with Optimus and Megatron. Pure history to me!!

Some people I know (I manage a mom and pop video store) say they refuse to see it because they don't look like the way they do in the cartoon.  Personally, I think it's kinda silly to dismiss it because of that.

Definitely. Transformers was my favorite show as a child before I got into the X-Men and the Marvel Universe. The movie is going to bring back memories. I do also like the fact that the movie seems to be mature version, which is great for the audience that grew up.

That would be great....but I'm keeping my expectations down.  Been burned too often in the past.

I agree, especially with the idea of Luther being the bad guy. On another note, the third X-Men movie... I mean... what the hell! They totally messed with the whole story there.
