A government issued photo ID. A passport is best, and in the next few years, passports will be mandatory.

Where are you planning on visiting? I'd recommend Ontario, BC, or the Maritimes.

How are you planning on getting here? I believe if you fly you must have a passport, but if you are driving then a drivers license is sufficient. Where are you going?

typically they like for you to have 1 or 2 beavers, at least one flanel jacket... and then you have to buy the border officer a beer or two or three

Nope probably not. The border will soon be erased anyway.

Bush already signed the agreement for the North American Union.

Nah Canadian crime rates are not all that bad. Way lower then the U.S.

However Weed is pretty big here though its not mandatory to have. If anything all he needs is a passport or drivers license. Some people don't realize how Canada and America are alike...all you will notice is maybe some lower weather depending on where your going. In the summer time is quite hot here. Or at least in BC

Whats wrong with Canada? Its a safer country then the U.S and theres not so many people everywhere i mean sure everywhere you go there will be people but driving here is easy. Notso many cars to look out for etc etc.

Maybe its not exactly the best time because our dollar is ahead of yours but this is not a bad country at all. Hell i don't even know why Canada is not part of the United states or vice versa....countries are alike in so many ways.

Well there is no date set in stone. January 2008 was the date, but that has been pushed back (at least according to article from June 2007), the deadline is June 1st 2009.

For now, by water or land, you need 2 pieces of I.D. that can prove your citizenship and your identity. So a drivers license and your Social Security Card is fine.

Just get a passport though.

Two forms of legal ID. SS card, drivers license, birth certificate...etc. Or you can opt for the strip search and detention policy.

Skip Toronto since their team forgot how to play hockey.
