True grit was a very boring movie...

I watched true grit last night, I had great hopes about this movie and after seeing that it had received such great critics and awards nominations, I said to myself "this might as well be the movie that will revive the western genre"

but im dissapointed...the movie was boring...the plot was not very good and it advanced way too fast...I mean like when the girl finally finds tom chaney at the river and she shots him then they take her with lucky ned and they make it look like as if the rivalry between cogburn and ned would be a very long and personal one but the guys barely new each other...cogburn was just a marshall hunting an outlaw and even though lucky ned had only appeared for like 3 minutes in the movie they already make him look as if he would be the main antagonist and as if he would have been present since the beginning or something like that.

the ending was also terrible.

That may be true but all the dialogue after those first ten minutes is ****ing excellent.

Just because you didn't like the movie doesn't mean it's overrated. I mean who are you...a high-end movie critic?

Have you even seen the original? Now the remade True Grit doesn't beat the original by a long shot(that's impossible in my book) but it pretty much stays on the same line as the original.

True Grit is awesome, and so are Tarantino movies.

You're in the minority that doesn't like them.

i find most movies from indie producers that are supposedly good and oscar worthy, are boring as hell.

that said, i havent actually seen true grit.

i thought it was a pretty decent movie, i usually hate westerns..but true grit was a solid movie imo

Yeah, Hostel wasn't his, and neither was Sin City. He's guest directed one scene in Sin City. He just put his on Hostel, as he did with Modesty Blaise as well.

Edit: Oh, and I loved that movie. Regarding the tense relationship between Bridges' and Damon's characters, I believe it wasn't personal, just what either side represented, with Damon's character being a Texas Ranger.
