US President-elect Donald Trump has long expressed his admiration for “strong man” Russian leader Vladimir Putin. But in an interview with The Wall Street Journal published on Friday, this admiration reaches a new level, when Trump said he received a “beautiful” letter from the Russian strongman.

The president-elect said he and Putin have scheduled a phone call shortly.

Putin’s spokesman had said that Trump could help build confidence with Russia after he becomes president and would be able to persuade NATO to slow down its expansion or withdraw its forces from Russia’s borders.

Dmitry Peskov said in an interview with The Associated Press that this “would lead to a kind of detente in Europe.”

The president-elect says NATO was created to confront a threat - the Soviet Union - that no longer exists and has called the alliance “obsolete” and a bad deal for America.

Trump, received congratulatory messages from most of the world leaders when he won his landslide victory. However, Trump said China’s leader Xi Jinping was the only one who did not congratulate him.

It is not surprising, since Trump already said that “we already have a trade war” with China, adding boisterously that “we have the power over China, economic power.”

Source.

Like Nixon, but in reverse!?

And if it were Hillary, that letter would've contained a nuke and we'd be living in Fallout 3.

@KHAndAnime:

Nah, no World War 3 with Clinton.....she answered the question about the no-fly zone beautifully in the 3rd debate. She's too smart to start a 3rd World War or push Russia into one. But you guys elected this clown, who's clueless about foreign affairs. Happy to say I didn't vote for him.

And the military industrial complex overwhelmingly backed Hillary because....? Because they profit more from peace? Yea...no.

Hillary has public and private version of the stances she's talked about. Given that, you don't know anything about what she plans.

@KHAndAnime:

I would have taken my chances with her over a guy who's in bed with Putin but is unafraid to unleash nukes if the bromance ends, he seems to be mentally arrested at about the 3rd grade level.

I must disagree.

Following is the "no-fly zone" exchange between Wallace and Clinton, excerpted from the full transcript of the third debate.

Notice that Hillary didn't even answer the key question that Wallace raised, namely whether she would approve the US military's firing on Russian planes that entered the no-fly zone.

All she really did was to opine that Russia could be persuaded that a no-fly zone was also in Russia's interest. That's a ludicrous suggestion, given that Russia knows very well that the purpose of any such zone would be to protect the anti-Assad terrorists and, quite possibly, to provide opportunities for the "coalition" to attack Assad's military from the air.

The Russians haven't forgotten how NATO used the "no-fly zone" in Libya, namely to fly air cover sorties for Al Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb and to bomb Libyan infrastructure.

Wallace:

Secretary Clinton, you have talked about in the last debate and again today that you would impose a no-fly zone to try to protect the people of Aleppo and to stop the killing there. President Obama has refused to do that because he fears it’s gonna draw us closer and deeper into the conflict. And General Joseph Dunford, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, says you want to impose a no-fly zone, chances are you are going to get into a war, his words, with Syria and Russia. So the question I have is first, how do you respond to their concerns? Secondly, if you impose a no-fly zone and a Russian plane violates that, does President Clinton shoot that plane down?

Clinton:

Well Chris, first of all, I think a no-fly zone could save lives and hasten the end of the conflict. I am well aware of the really legitimate concerns you have expressed from both the president and the general. This would not be done just on the first day.This would take a lot of negotiation and it would also take making it clear to the Russians and the Syrians that our purpose is to provide safe zones on the ground. We've had millions of people leave Syria, and those millions of people inside Syria who’ve been dislocated. So I think we could strike a deal and make it very clear to the Russians and Syrians that this was something that we believe the best interests of the people on the ground in Syria. It would help us in the fight against ISIS.

Don't torture him like that. Hillary supporters are blind and deaf to any alternative views on Hillary except their own. These videos are like John Cen to him, he physically can't see them. To him, you just replied with an empty quote.

@jhonMalcovich:

Haha, hardly tortured about it, people are entitled to their opinions. I stand by mine, spin it as you wish.

Did you hear Trump on 60 minutes last night? He's quite a moron, so I have to wonder about a good portion of his supporters.
