Ok I know there is some Led Zepplin fans here, and I'm trying to get into them, want to start listening to their music.

But I don't want to do that until I get to know what are some songs I should listen to first to warm me up to their sound, and what not.

Led Zeppelin IV would probably be a good start. Great album.

A good list. However it's hard to list bad Zeppelin songs :P (just stay away from Coda, an album made after Bohnam died to fulfil contract obligations)

that list is missing achilles last stand, led zeppelin's best song, and jimmy page's favorite song as well.

You could start at the beginning, Led Zeppelin I, or you could start with Mothership which is a "greatest hits" compilation picked by the living band members.

Get the best of album. Or better yet, iTunes has EVERY album, buy the complete pack. You got a lot of songs, it is Led Zeppelin (they have a lot of good song), and all your friends will think you are really cool. The last part isn't an exaggeration because everyone worships Zeppelin. Everybody.

Yeah, I think that's the best place to start. You have a great selection of songs on there, and if you like some more than others then find out what album your favourites come from and check them out. :)

Stairway to Heaven for the more mellow / regular sound buid-up and Immigrant Song for their more regular sound.

Edit: Michael Winslow also does a nice parody version of Immigrant Song http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=31kdfa_iCis

Edit 2: Actually it's the first 'vocal' part of Immigrant Song, but the rest of it is a parody of Whole Lotta Love - another great song.
- Mothership is the latest Greatest Hits album to come out.

I suggest starting with the first album, Led Zeppelin, and then going in order.

Though, if you don't want to listen to all of them, I suggest at least listening to Physical Graffiti, and Led Zeppelin III-IV.

I would strongly suggest looking at the track list of a Greatest Hits album and then listening to those songs on Youtube. Why spend the money?

Immigrant Song = the greatest thing you have ever listened to by Zeppelin and ever will. A definite must. If this doesn't get you into Zeppelin, there's no hope for you.

HotH is fantastic, but I personally think IV is better. You can't go wrong with HotH, though :P.

I'm surprised that I seem to be in the minority here, but I'd say II is the best one to start at. IMO, easily their best all the way through. I, III, and IV have good songs, but I don't thin they're as solid as II, it's been a while but I don't think there's a single song on II I didn't like. I'd say either HotH or Physical Graffiti next. Physical Graffiti is one of their later ones, though, and while good won't give you the best indicator of the rest of their stuff.

LZ II is a fantastic album as well. But, I think for someone just getting into them, starting at the beginning, or with IV, would be the best bet. It gives them a glimpse some of the more popular songs Zeppelin has, and then you move onto other albums such as II, III, and Physical Graffiti.

I think anybody's suggestions here would work, which goes to show you what kind of band you have here. :) This is a band where almost every song they did was at least good and frequently great, so I'd just write down what everybody has suggested and start listening. I'm partial to Black Dog since I think that was the first Zeppelin song I ever heard, but there are lots of good places to start

I think one is their best, i like presence too.

infact just go listen to everything, even their last album is pretty good considering the criticism it gets.
