Hi. I have a DS up for bid that is listed to come with all the original packaging and manuals, ect. I got a note today asking if I'd be willing to simply ship the ds itself because the note sender was just looking for a DS alone. If this person won the bid, and I just sent him the DS, would h be able to cheat me somehow because my listing said manuals included and he talked me into sending just the DS?

Thanks.

0, his join date is also dec 15 2010. The item was listed dec 20 2010. So he is a new account, but wasn't made for my listing.

Well, if he is new, no sense as to labeling all new people as scammers. Just keep a track of his messages, pics of the item that was sent, etc to be prepared just in case he is a scammer. It does sound kinda odd, though.

But, if you don't want to go through that, you can just block the bidder.

Could be that he wants to save on shipping. But keep all emails.

Sounds a bit suspicious to me, but it possibly might be legit. Just be causious and save all contact you have with him. Maybe you could ship it with everything anyway, he shouldn't complain.

He may be asking you to ship without all that stuff in an attempt to get the shipping costs lowered (since including the DS box would require a larger shipping box). He could also be asking you to not include it in the hopes that when it arrives he can file a complaint about how he didn't get everything that was promised and attempt to get a full refund/chargeback as a result. I'd just tell him that the shipping costs are the same with and without packaging (doesn't matter if that isn't the case, just lie) and that as a result you'll ship it with everything as stated in the auction and he can just toss whatever he doesn't want once he gets it (and make sure to add that you won't accept a return unless you get everything back that you shipped to him).

If his payment clears without issue, then ship him whatever he wants.

I would not ship until you get the payment cleared though.

This. While you shouldn't assume every new user is a scammer out to get you, you SHOULD be careful. Stick to the item listing and don't do any under the table deals.

You could put up a new auction just for him where the item being sold is just the DS.

This is the most feasible answer. If you dont get paid, you get your eBay listing fees back, so dont worry.
