It was the feast day of St. Charles Borromeo.

Wilfred Owen died ninety years ago fighting at the Battle of the Sambre while crossing the Sambre-Oise Canal in France. He was KIA exactly one week (almost to the hour) before the signing of the Armistice which ended WW1.North-NorthHE LIVES! Wilfred Owen :P

FYI She's still gov. of Alaska. I'm sure we'll be seeing more of her in the coming months.
yeah but on the national level. Im interested on who will lead the republican party
I think we can all expect a 2012 run from Palin for the Republican presidential nomination.

You can quote me on this, but Sarah Palin will never receive a nomination for the presidency from the republican party. Picking her for veep earned the party enough flak as it was, let alone bringing her back in 4 years for the real deal. It will never happen. I don't care how much trading she does with Russia between now and then either.
Oh and Nov. 4 was also election day. And Nov. 1 was All Saints day and Nov.2 was All Souls Day. So while Obama celebrates his election and McCain copes with the dissapointment let us Remember that it is my hope (and hopefully yours as well) that one day, decades from now on Nov 1 we will be celebrating both of Our Presidential candidates as well as their running mates and the Current President and Vice President on All Saints day. At the very least we know we will have to eventually (although let's hope not to soon) remember them on All Souls day.
Also there is a Meeting going on in the Vatican between Christian and Muslim religious leaders and scholars. It's always nice to see the various religions getting along rather than fighting.
