Tv show that ended too soon

One of my favorite shows was a little action comedy called Chuck. Every season got better and when he finally beat his nemesis near the end of the show it felt so earned. I wish it could of stayed longer.

A couple others that come to mind are Reaper, Angel, The 4400 and Veronica Mars. Yes I admit I liked that show!

Better off Ted ended way too soon, was a really funny TV show.

Agreed. I'll throw in Pushing Daisies. I loved the off-the-wall concept although it never caught on.

Firefly, Spawn, Dave Chappelle, Arrested Development, Futurama and the Battlestar Galacticas series's.

I don't think it even got finished but Survivor. It was about end of the world dying of flue virus. Only lasted 2 series and as said don't think there was a proper last episode.

Nah I think Chuck ended at the right time. It was getting pretty repetitive. I really like the ending though. (Even if it was bitter sweet. :'( )

I can't think of any. Most shows get stale if not stupid after a few seasons.

Also I have no idea why people like Firefly. I found it just as boring and overrated as Cowboy Bebop.

If you're looking for something different, absolutely. Just be warned that it's about as "different" as it can get.

It's about a pie maker who finds out that he gained the ability to bring people back to life by touching them, and he can re-kill someone who he previously brought back by touching them again. Conversely, he cannot resurrect someone a second time, and if he resurrects someone for longer than a minute then someone nearby will die in their place.

He learns this by inadvertently bringing his dead girlfriend back to life and having her father die in her place. Thus, he can never touch her again, and he fears she wouldn't forgive him if he told her the truth.

What's a guy with this power to do, of course, but solve mysteries (when he isn't baking pies)? So he teams up with his P.I. buddy to do just that.

The entire thing is told in this overly bright, technicolor, fairy tale type presentation that embraces it's campiness, complete with a snarky narrator that relates the events with a tongue-in-cheek self awareness.

I completely forgot about Young Justice. A great series canceled without finishing its story. Tragic. Although I would want to see more Legend of Korra, at least it was allowed to end on a positive note.

Another is Jericho, although it was continued in the comics.

Yeah, heard about this Firefly show, had a hunch it would get mentioned in this thread. Agreed that one ended much too soon.

American Dragon: Jake Long was an interesting animated show on DC about 10 years ago, only got two seasons, feels like it should have gotten at least a third season before it ended.

And lastly, Teen Titans (The older original one, not this teen titans go! newer one) I know it likely had a good run, but I think it still could have used another season, that and I love that show so much, just pains me extra hard that it ended.

The ending felt so rushed.

Holy crap, I completely forgot about American Dragon: Jake Long. That was my favorite cartoon show I enjoy only because it was like watching Jackie Chan Adventures style for it's arts and Jake almost look like what a Jackie Chan kid should be. Teen Titan was okay but I like Teen Titans Go more so.

@thehig1: Nope, no cliffhanger. Although the end is admittedly something of a letdown because the writers, knowing that they were not going to renewed for a third season late in the writing process, tried to wrap everything up in a short amount or time. It's better than no closure, but you get a clear sense that it was rushed.

I can accept that, same thing happend with Brickleberry.

When I turn on the intro to QL I'm magically taken to simpler, better times. 80's music and everything that was good about those times. It wasn't a show you took seriously but there was something about it which made you watch. :) I think MacGyver was on an hour before Quantum Leap. La Femme Nikita was also a USA Network produced show. Hmmm.....

X-files, Seinfield, histories mysteries, unsolved mysteries (man that show was brilliant).

Anyway, my pick goes to Beastmaster and The Lost World. These shows I used sometimes on WGN back in the late 90s early 2000s. Beastmaster I eventually saw every episode on YouTube.

Yup. After an incredible season 2, we get left forever with this cliffhanger:

pretty much this, but i still prefer television over movies, generally speaking,

one complaint i have with t.v is dragging shows on to long for the sake of advertising dollars.....

prison break and how i met your mother are perfect recent examples of this....with prison break if they wrapped the show up on season two the show would of had insane hype and you could use that to their advantage by making a spin off a few years later this time with woman..... that would give people a break from the original series and make them excited to see another one (better rating = more advertising dollars right ?)

granted i liked the last two season's of prison break and blame the writers strike for the flaws it did have.... but i'm just making a point...

with how i met your mother i feel those final 3 seasons would of been better used if they ended the boys side of the show and restarted it and showed the mothers story, granted i don't like female comedies but that's beside the point, sjw would of creamed themselves for it.....instant hype and ratings.... especially if they have a black man and a gay character... a black gay character.... ? ....i think so XD we also need to transsexual XD

all kidding aside though... the point is.... i think milking shows is the wrong approach, i think their is more value shortening shows to keep them at their height, and bringing them back later

That's a great choice. It had something like 40 episodes in an era in which shows churned out 30+ episodes per season. Plus it was brilliant and it's format allowed for more possibilities than most shows.

Definitely. I love the longer episodes and the feel to the show. I don't think any TV show ever captured the Golden Age Sci-Fi atmosphere and Atomic Age paranoia better than that show did. I like it even better than The Twilight Zone. It's a shame poor ratings had to kill it off.

Back when I was watching Sonic satam, I thought it was Knuckles in that scene because the writers had plains to make Knuckles an appearance for the first time in a Sonic cartoon series but back then, I didn't know that was Naugus.

Now as for Metal Sonic however, there's a Sonic movie and Metal Sonic is in it. Hell, it's the only Sonic Movie that features Metal Sonic and also, Knuckles is in it as well.
