I was encouraged to watch this movie since my aunt, who was good friends with Bruce Campbell and Sam Raimi (she went her prom with Sam Raimi), was one of the extras in it. This slightly sparked my interest because it made me feel cool that I had a relative who was friend with celebreties, and the movie seemed kind of interesting from when my dad talked about it and how he got to see it before it came out. So, even though it's an old horror movie, I decided to rent it and watch it with a friend.

The best way to sum the movie up for me is this: What. The. Hell? What are those trees doing to that woman? Why won't that person shut the hell up and stop laughing? What was most emotionally scarring was my aunt was an extra in the tree scene, taking place for the actor.

So, anyone else seen this movie? What do you think of it? And does it surprise anyone that it's the same director from Spiderman that had made this movie?

I like how the series progressed from being a cheesy horror film to a horror/comedy genre.

Yeah, more cheesy horror movies need to just move more into the comedy genre.

I remember how I used to watch the Evil Dead series all the time when I was 7. Those movies were so horribly made to the point where they were hilarious. Though of course, Bruce Campbell is a total badass no matter what movie he's in.

Why not? It worked for Chucky, the Leprechaun and Freddy Krueger.

Unfortunately the good ones are anonymous : The descent was real horror , it was practically a masterpiece IMO .

And Cradle of Fear (B movie) had so much lulz and barfs and shivvers its not even funny.

I saw the one that started with darkness sweeping the land, and Bruce's hand gets something-or-another'd and he cuts it off. Was that Army of Darkness? I like most movies I see, and I found it entertaining, but not awesome. But I remember the plot, which is more than I can say about some movies.

Please don't tell me you have seen Terror Toons. That movie wasn't worth even the rent.

I dunno, Army of Darkness shows a short summary of the second movie where you see how he loses his hand(which is one of the most epic pieces of film ever! ).

Raping her. Anyway, I thought it was a good movie but I love pretty much anything with Bruce Campbell in it. I enjoyed Evil Dead 2 and Army of Darkness more though.

I've never seen the original Evil Dead, but I did see the second. It was great. And I know some people were saying they liked horror/comedy films, and i'm sure most of you seen it, but if you haven't you need to go buy or rent the movie Sliver. Its hilarious and is also a good horror movie.

He went back in time, I think. I vividly remember a stupid scene where he pulls a chemestry book out of his car and makes explosives and a robotic hand.

Yeah. I wrote about it in my blog. I'd tell you my opinion and what I thought about it but then again, it is already in my blog. (Which you can go to if you click on my profile name.):)

Feel proud too. Whenever you're talking with your friends about The Evil Dead you can go "Yeah, my aunt was raped by a tree in that movie.8)"
