Every fight is the greatest fight in ufc history...FightingfanI truly hope you don't actually understand how big of a match this actually is...
Already ordered this fight on Main Event,
Been waiting 2 years for this fight and i do really hope that Sonnen wins.
If Sonnen wins then suddenly the whole MW division will explode with viable Contenders since there is several guys that could beat Sonnen but only 2 or 3 that can beat Silva.
[QUOTE="V4LENT1NE"]I hope Silva wins, I find Chael a bit annoying, like he is trying to hard.BMD004It's an act. If you accept that and just go with it, he can actually be pretty funny.
I agree, people make him out to be a bad guy but he's just building up hype
It's going to be a great night of fights, hoping Chael wins but I'm thinking Silva is going to take it
can anyone explain why its "the biggest fight in ufc" and so hyped?laglamBecause Anderson Silva is the most dominant champion of all-time, and arguably the greatest mixed martial artist ever. Some people have argued that he has one weakness.... wrestlers. He hasn't fought many of them.
Then in 2010 comes Chael Sonnen, an Olympic-calibur wrestler. Sonnen talked major smack saying how he was going to destroy Silva for 5 rounds. He kept talking and talking. Most people rolled their eyes and figured Sonnen was going to get destroyed and was cashing in on his 15 minutes of fame. But when the fight happened, Sonnen was right.
Sonnen demolished Silva for 5 straight rounds, until Silva submitted Sonnen with a triangle choke with a little more than 1 minute left in the 25 minute fight. It was the greatest comeback ever. Silva was losing every single minute of that fight until the very end. Nobody has ever done that to Anderson. After the fight, Silva claimed he had a rib injury. And Sonnen tested positive for elevated testosterone and was suspended.
Since then, both fighters have gone undefeated, and now they are going to fight again in a rematch. So now it is really interesting. How will an uninjured Silva do? How will Sonnen do without elevated testosterone? Will Sonnen still dominate the fight like last time or will Silva show that last time was a fluke? There has been a lot of smack talk on both sides, and they both have passionate fans. A lot of questions will be answered tonight, and it will be fun to watch.
Also, what you have to understand is that this has been building up for more than 2 years. In the entire 2 years since their last fight, Sonnen has continued to talk smack and call out Silva. People have been waiting for this rematch since immediately after the first fight. There has been arguing between fans for those two years about how a second fight would go. Silva's fans claim that the rib injury was a big factor and also that Chael had elevated testosterone. So they think Silva would dominate a rematch. Sonnen's fans say that the rib injury is overblown and that Sonnen would take Silva down and beat him up no matter what.
There has been a lot of talk from everybody, and now everybody is very anxious to see what will happen. And we'll see tonight.
Oh come on, biggest fight in UFC? Silva's gonna dominate! :)
I truly believe that but I also hope so, Chael Sonnen looks and behave douchy.
I was more excited for Overeem-Dos Santos. I mean, I'm sure it will eventually happen, but the hype has died way down.
Also, I'd really like to see Hunt-Overeem II at some point. Two K-1 World Grand Prix Champions in the UFC HW division? You must make them fight.
It's pretty split with fans... but I agree that I figured Silva would get more votes in a poll like this because he's been the champion for so long, and a lot of people don't like Sonnen's attitude.I'm a little surprised the poll is favoring sonnen, I thought anderson was the fravorite with most people. This is a very compelling matchup, and I'll be intersted to see if it gets more ppv buys then a brock lesnar card (I think it deserves to personally).

I know, I have seen many interviews where he is actually ok, but there is just something about the guy, I find the act quite annoying at times to.
Silva was just plain dirty in that fight,
Rubbing vaso like that is just plain dirty,
Turning point of the fight was when Yves let Anderson hold onto Chaels shorts for 5-6 seconds while Anderson through punches with the other hand, from there Chael was dazed.
Silva won a fair fight, he was the better fighter.Mkavanaugh77yea nah
Finally it's over. Anderson won, rightfully so.m25105
After getting man-handled for an entire round, once again.
Silva won a fair fight, he was the better fighter.Mkavanaugh77yea nah It wasnt fair because he held his shorts for a couple of seconds? GTFO He didnt do it on purpose and and doesnt even make a difference anyway. Quit trying to make excuses. No, he did it on purpose. Trust me, when you grab someone's shorts, you are doing it on purpose.
This fight leaves me wanting more...
The fight ended by a stupid mistake by Chael... but also an excellent finish by Anderson. That is what makes Anderson so great. You can't make a mistake against him, and if you do, he is going to capitalize on it.
But at the same time, I still wonder what would have happened if Chael wouldn't have slipped by throwing a wreckless spinning back-fist.
Silva worked Sonnen the entire second round. He hit him hard with a right when he was backing up, hands down and Sonnen was moving forward. Not long after Sonnen threw a hail mary spin to win back fist and Silva ducked AND tripped him, gave him a beautiful knee to the chest and nice left kick to the ribs after he stood back up and a right to the face that dropped him. It was classic Silva.
I knew sonnen was going to lose he was on top for like 20 mins and could not finish silva in the 1st fight.
