I second that, I love the way he switches his style during a fight, it's like watching a Tekken match

Yeah GSP is pretty exciting to watch...BJ Penn is pretty good too, but he has a really annoying personality.

I like both but I kinda want to see someone holding two belts at the same time. So I don't mind who wins just as long its a great fight with a convincing win, like a tap out or knock out, no decisions or fight stopped by a cut or something.

Beats me. This fight could go either way. I know one thing, it won't be easy for either fighter to win. GSP won the last time and we saw what happened to him.

Definately props to both athletes. Both amazing fighters and the fight really could go either way. And we all want a convincing win.

I think all around, GSP is the better fighter. Penns standup has come a very long way over the years, but I think George will take it.

Indeed. What a beatdown on behalf of GSP. Machida also dominated Silva. All in all, one of the better UFC cards I've seen in the past few years.

XD Lyoto just shut up all those people who thought he was a "runner"/ nancy boy like Kalib Starnes, and who said he couldn't finish fights. He can. He just doesn't put himself in dangerous situations, and Thiago opened the door for him. :P And yeah, GSP is pretty awesome. :)

Heh, Jones was amazing in the first round. Spinning elbow, spinning back kick, suplexes, laser fast takedown transitions, etc. His cardio was done by the middle of the second, and that throw he got in at the end of the 2nd was sheer knowing momentum. He was literally a zombie in the 3rd. If he can afford to do MMA full-time and works on his cardio and striking more, then he could be dangerous.

Oh he tried. The first round and him stuffing GSP's takedowns all round was proof of that. GSP just had a plan, and BJ's plan got overwrote once GSP took control. He broke BJ mentally, and when that happens, it's a vicious tailspin.

We saw this kind of beatdown on Jon Fitch earlier, but GSP didn't find a way to break Fitch mentally. Fitch got beat up more, physically, but his heart was still there and he still felt he could win. GSP took away BJ's strong points and demoralized him, and slowed him down. Then he controlled him on the ground to the point where BJ was focusing more on surviving than looking for a sub. Even when they were standing, GSP outboxed Penn as well, so BJ had nothing going for him, even if he had all the tools to put up a struggle.

I think BJ Penn should stick to 155 because the Welter Weights are just too big nowadays. GSP is a true Welter Weight while BJ Penn looks better in Light Weight. It would be interesting if GSP decide to go up in weight but I doubt he can defeat a fighter like Anderson Silva.

Although these UFC 94 fights looked good on paper, I was pretty disappointed with all these bs decisions. I did like the Machida and Jon Jones fights though.

I thought the Guida/Diaz and Parisyan/Kim fights were pretty solid. I think if Guida didn't get terrible advice from his corner before the 3rd rd, it would have been unanimous, because he wasn't letting Diaz do anything and was showing superb octagon control. Diaz was too much a threat in striking, and that won Diaz a stake in the split decision. The parisyan/Kim fight...I thought kim deserved it, because I felt the first round was 10-8 Kim, the 2nd was 10-9 Parisyan, and the 3rd was a draw, or at most a 10-9 parisyan. But I felt they were solid fights and they were fun to watch.

What BS decisions, other than Parisyan vs Dong Hyun Kim fight? Or are you saying it was BS how so many fights went to the judges? People were dubbing this the night of decisions before the even even happened, you could kind of see it with the matchups.

I'll agree with this. I'm not even sure that i'd have Penn beating other big welterweights like Fitch or Alves. With Penn's already questionable gas tank at 170, once he stuffs a few takedowns, he'll be going down for sure, and once he's taken down and the bigger man grinds away a little bit, he's pretty much done in, expert bjj game or not. Honestly, the Penn/GSP fight went exactly as expected and in that respect, was a little boring and predictable. The bigger story was Lyoto Machida. Holy crap! The dude finally showed knockout power and aggression, and his patented karate/muay thai blend technique of evasion and run and gun is further perfected. Thiago Silva is no joke and he made him look like a child. Ridiculous. Also loved Jon Jones' Chris Benoit-esque german suplex, as well as that ridiculous spinning back elbow (which he said on Dana's video blog that he picked up off of YOUTUBE. Imagine that). Honestly, if Jones managed to finish Bonnar after that elbow, he would've gotten knockout of the night for sure.

Yeah man, I'm one of the biggest MMA dudes here on GS, along with jfcundiff (dude with the Fedor av), ChuteBoxe, and a couple others. We just normally post in the Sports Games forum, where there are two UFC 94 threads.

I love Machida's win though, that last blow literally came a millisecond before the bell.

I love that song! I saw it a while ago and fell out of my chair XD It's nice to know there are some solid MMA fans here though. I remember a year or two ago there really weren't any. or, when I made threads about it/saw threads about it, they were largely ignored.

GSP wouldn't be impressed if you punched out Superman. hehe I loved how Matt Hughes said GSP just said what he said to him (which he did and pretty much word for word hehe [QUOTE="gunswordfist"]You mean the man with the Fedor pound for pound the best fighter in the world sig? That GS user is everywhere. lol I just became a UFC fan thanks to....wait for it The Ultimate Fighter Season 8 (Junie Browning was my favorite on that, believe it or not) And I NEVER touched the sports games forum so that's why I no nothing about that. hehe And Machida's KO made it the most impressive fight of the night. I became a fan of his after that and I hope he gets his wish and fights Evans. But I still want Sugar Rashad Evans to win and stay undefeated. Won't be an easy fight though. BJ Penn has filed a complaint to the NSAC (Nevada State Athletic Commision) stating GSP was greased up during the fight so his jiu jitsu was ineffective.

BJ making excuses, I hope they host the fight again so BJ can get pounded his last time.
