Ukraine wants to ban Spongebob and the Teletubbies (among other things)

"The Ukrainian commission had previously attempted to ban other shows, including "The Simpsons."

Some of the accusations leveled against the programming in the study:

• SpongeBob Squarepants: "gay"

• Teletubbies: "Deliberately aims to create subnormal (men), who spend all day in front of the television with their mouths open swallowing all types of information," and promotes the "psychology of losers."

• Shrek: "containing sadism"

• South Park: "reincarnation propaganda"

• Japanese Anime: "A clear example of sexist propaganda"

The study concluded that the programming represents "a large-scale experiment on Ukrainian children" to "create criminals and perverts."

I'm pretty sure the Teletubbies were cancelled after the purple one died of aids and the red one ended up in Gitmo on terrorism charges. Ukraine are a bit behind the times.

What I wanna know is, who are this "Ukraine's National Expert Commission for Protecting Public Morality". Do they represent the opinion of the government and/or the majority of the population? Are they even tied to the government? For all I know, it's a group of deluded bible thumpers like Westboro. Until that is cleared up, the thread title seems rather misleading.

I agree with them on banning spongbob , it has been proven than watching it makes people stupid(er) as with japanese anime , not all of it has too much fanservice , so they shoulsn't ban the whole genreMAZ85

Teletubbies is awful though. It does anything but encourage learning and development in children. Not to mention it sucks. God seriously. They have a 5 minute clip of some random s***, and then you watch it again? wft why.Overlord93
