Sometimes the funniest TV shows never get a lot of mainstream appreciation.

It's Always sunny in philadelphia- How has this show not been nominated for an Emmy? It is still the funniest show on TV.

Eastbound and down

The Thick of it

Better off ted

Party down- It saddens me that this show was canceled

Garth Marenghi's Darkplace

Brass Eye

Jam

The State

Psych

Community

The life and times of Tim

Dead like me

Peep Show

Newsradio

Titus

Archer

Louie

The Riches

Slings and arrows

Nighty night

Another one that is under the radar currently is The Increasingly Poor Decision of Todd Margaret with David Cross and Will Arnett. A lot of big Cross and Arnett fans seem to not even know this exists and the show is pretty funny.

The Mighty Boosh. Green Wing. Can't think of any more right now. MystikRex

Good call on Green Wing. I'll throw in a couple other of Chris Morris shows with The Day Today and Nathan Barley.

Since you've mentioned The Thick Of It it's worth mentioning Time Trumpet and the Armando Iannuci Shows.

Phonejacker and Facejacker both have their hilarious moments too.

EDIT: How can I forget those 2 in my sig - Psychoville

I liked and still like Kids in the Hall. They came out with a new show this year called Death Comes to Town. Was entertaining and I bet nobody here watched it but me :P

The only one on that list that I agree with is Dead Like Me. I think it ended way too soon.

Dead Like Me was and is one of my favorite shows. The movie left a little to be desired but I enjoyed it simply because I missed the show so much

They need to do something about The Riches. The way they ended with that cliffhanger ending still bugs me to this day. Eddie Izzard was awesome in it too.

I live in Australia these days

Hopefully they'll release something on Doovde by the time I pop home for Christmas

EDIT: And indeed Nathan Barley is awesome - reminds a lot of Old Street/Hoxton Square in London - I could swear it's based on that area :P

Shame, although you could probably catch it online somewhere. One more show for the list, Catterick... that was genius.

Woops didnt mean to write that. Great show but clearly not comedy. Let's replace it with Peep Show. Nobody knows that one in the U.S.

Flight of the Conchords and... Parks and Rec? Is that popular? I don't know if that's popular.

Anyway, both are fantastic.

Arrested Development is pretty underrated. I mean, those who have watched it love it and those who haven't watched it don't really know anything about it. I just finished watching it and I'm really, really glad that I did. I couldn't stop. The League is really funny and it's loosely based on fantasy football which I love. I get that it all revolves around their league, but it's not all fantasy talk which makes people who aren't fans of it still able to enjoy the show. Always Sunny is magical. Rules of Engagement is geared toward relationships and marriage, but damn it's hilarious. Patrick Warburton's monotone and sarcasm does it for me. He's one of my favorite TV characters ever. Oliver Hudson plays the stupid one and he's great, too. David Spade somehow doesn't feel like overkill even though it's a lot of David Spade. One of my favorite shows on TV right now. Eastbound and Down was easily the funniest show I have ever seen until it took on a second season. It's just not the same as those first six episodes. It would be tops, but I think it tried to drag out Kenny Powers until I only get a few laughs out of each episode.

Archer.

Like nobody I know except the two guys who got me into it has ever heard of it or talks about it, but it's probably the best thing I've seen on TV recently.

If you know anything about Fantasy Football (or the NFL in general) the The League on FX is pretty funny.
