So far yes...granted it's only a community college...but i'm using it as a stepping stone to go to a much better school..
I have applied to quite a few universities .......till now i have bin accepted by Clemson and rejected by Univ of Wisconsin Madison ..........still waiting to hear from 11 so i still donno if i'l get my first choice
No, but I'm not that concerned with where I go for an undergraduate degree anyway (and this is the cheapest option hands down). My first choice was Oxford...so, for obvious reasons....
same with me. As with me.[QUOTE="spazzx625"]Out of high school I only applied at one school and got in...So yes.needled24-7
I had terrible, terrible grades in high school, including a stellar 1.8 GPA in my final quarter. Needless to say, I was not accepted by my Ivy first choice. However, I did ultimately get into a more than solid state school, and I could probably go to a higher level grad school if I so desired.
No. Greek Philology was not my first choice in the application form we are handed out, here.
For first choice I had chosen a major that prepares you to be a teacher in elementary schools. Nothing specialised. I chose that because its easier to find a job afterwards.
I didnt make it cause the admission grades skyrocketed the year that I graduated from HS and my 17.210 points werent enough.
My second choice was Greek Philology, which I like much better as a major but the job opportunities are scarce to say the least, and the environment in Greece's educational system couldnt have been crappier.
I am thinking about obtaining better diplomas after the standard one but we'll see about that.
same with me. Pretty much this. There was no shopping around for me.[QUOTE="spazzx625"]Out of high school I only applied at one school and got in...So yes.needled24-7
No, I wanted to go to Stanford. Instead I go to its rival, UC Berkeley.

LOL, similar story here, although I decided not to go to Berkeley and went to Columbia instead. I had to start in Spring for UC Berkeley, and I didn't want to graduate a semester after all my friends.
Yep. Decided to go to my uni because it was close to home i.e. same city. Just happens to be the top uni overall in the country.
I'm at my second choice. I wanted to go to Kings College Wilkes-Barre but it was a bit expensive even with the scholarship they gave me.MattUD1
i live 20 minutes from there :o
Yup, I was accepted to my university of choice and am currently going there. Dunno if it was the right choice though.
Argh, 11? In the UK, you have a maximum of five to apply to.I have applied to quite a few universities .......till now i have bin accepted by Clemson and rejected by Univ of Wisconsin Madison ..........still waiting to hear from 11 so i still donno if i'l get my first choice

i really couldnt be bothered with the open days, forms etc just to do something i wasnt 100% sure on, so didnt bother going, got a rubbish job for 3 years, then landed a construction job as a part time student, did 5 years at uni 1 day a week, spent 2 years on awful money, 2 years on decent then 1 year on great money and company car, uni didnt cost me anything and i have a brilliant job with no student debts
the gf on the other hand did do all the research found everything she wanted did 3 years in forensics racked up a ton of debt and spent 2 years looking for a job (any science job in the end) and now has given up and works at the council on naff all money
what im getting at is that although it takes longer and i wont lie is an utter ball ache from my experience work based part time student is the way to go

That's because she chose forensics? It's going to be hard to find jobs for most science related fields. Engineering is much easier, especially Computer Science.
I didn't get my first, second, third, fourth, or fifth. I got into 3 schools, and only one was really viable to be honest. I only reason I didn't want to go here, is the cost. But my parents kept telling me not to worry about it.

basically yeah, she chose a degree that had about 80 kids on the course and got taught at several different unis, thats a lot of kids going for very few positions, but thats the pitfall of uni IMO, if id have been bothered i would have done physiotherapy at uni, could i get a job afterwards? not a clue, who at my college could have told me that? no one, not one of them would have had the faintest idea about job prospects after uni, very few people i know from college use their degrees now
