It, uh, definitely seems a bit interesting.

To start off, Beware the Batman will be a computer animated show. The creators so far have already confirmed none of the popular villains (or any villain who's had decent spotlight, anyway) will appear, with the exception of Ra's. Batman's also confirmed not to be as dark and brooding as he is usually portrayed (a friend described him being more detective like), with Alfred being a former spy helping the Bat with guns and a sidekick named Katana.

I want to look forward to this show, but it sounds like it'll end up being a bust. I don't see how it'll be successful unless the writers turn up brilliant. The usual villains are popular for a reason.

I don't know, I'll give it a try though. What's your guys' thoughts?

Like the art direction. Don't like anything else from what you described.

The CGI has all of the characters look like plastic action figures, much like the Green Lantern series they had last year--and it's distracting.  I guess it'd be a stretch in hoping that the writing would be decent.  If anything, this makes me miss Batman: The Animated Series that much more.

It killed YJ, the best thing to ever happen to DC, so this show can go suck a dick.

i'll definitely check it out. interesting that they're going with katana as a sidekick, but i really would've preferred robin, specifically damian wayne. i also like that we're not gonna get a closed-off and grim batman; it's not like we don't get enough of that in the comics.

also, wtf is up with that new titans show? my god, that looks horrible

My old DVD collection of TAS has become so worn, I need to replace it. Hopefully Netflix will upload it someday, in the meantime, I'll have to settle for reruns of it on the Hub.

I'm sure they are hoping that the toys sell well and it's probably the only reason they are doing this. GL didnt interest me because of the art direction and this one looks even less suited.

Is there any news of Blue Ray release of BATS? I'll positively purchase BR version if it releases.

Sounds like another Batman cartoon that won't top the animated series or Batman Beyond. Meh

Professor Pyg is kind of a messed up character for a children's show. Guess they'll tone him down and make him completely different from what he is supposed to be. None of this really matters to me though, shows for kids these days are awful and ours were good. All we can do is say that and move on.

You and me both. I don't think there's going to be a Blu-ray release anytime soon. You figure the time and money it'll take to get the original source material cleaned up for such a release won't be cheap or quick. Warner Bros. has kinda stingy when it comes to putting their cartoons out just on DVD alone, never mind Blu-ray.

I know nothing about this show and I didn't click on your link. However, one of my problems with Batman is that he's supposed to be "The World's Greatest Detective". Yet, it's so rare that we actually see him do any detective work, he just beats people up and uses some cool gadgets. I'm absolutely all for a "detective oriented" version of Batman.

You can't retain that classic comic-like feel with sh*tty 3D animation...

Sorry new Batman show, but you've already lost me (the rest sounds pretty crap, anyway).

they did a blu ray release for looney tunes which older than B:TAS so I hope they will do a blu ray release for B:TAS. though B:TAS is longer then looney tunes so it could take awhile to release them on blu ray
