challenger >mustang > camaro, air force knows it, and ive known it for 2 years now

Wait wait wait...challenger greater than the camaro?
I'm sorry.
The 2010 Camaro SS2 is the greatest value on 4 wheels at the moment. Until Ford unveils their rumored new 5.0L V-8 to directly compete with the LS99/LS7. The challenger is just a boxy 1 and done attempt at duplicating the success of the S197 Mustang.
And the Air Force should stick to designing jets.
Both look horrible. Ugh. Now I know why I work on GM vehicles.
And that Ford 5.4L, don't get too excited about it. From what I've heard its just a hoopty Triton, and I've heard that from FORD fanatics. Its sad that my 2001 Camaro can wipe the floor of the brand new Mustangs and Challengers. I really want Ford and Chrysler to release awesome cars again. Ford will do it with the Mustang before Chrysler does it with anything.
I heard the specs are pretty similar to the camaro, with at least 400 bhp and possibly up to 450 bhp. You are correct though, the 4th gen GM F-Body was a wonderful platform. That LS1 was just way out of the mustang's league....the only kicker is the premium fuel requirement. I never quite understood why Ford made their numbers so significantly weaker than GM did in the 1999 - 2004 Mustang. I mean come on...the 4th gen was out in 1998 with a 310/320 HP/TQ 5.7L LS1 and you bring out a 260/302 HP/TQ 4.6L V8? That said, I love mustangs most of all...sorry to say it guys...but Ford mixes design and performance the best out of any of the original muscle manufacturers. I can't wait for the 2013 full Mustang redesign. By then I'm afraid the Camaro will more than likely be a memory again. Government Motors has to play nice with the environment and the only one the Obama administration might let them keep is the corvette due to its American pride factor. American muscle is dying...Both look horrible. Ugh. Now I know why I work on GM vehicles.

The SRT-8 would take me on the top end. Absolutely. It has happened to me before. However, driving a 6speed with 4.10s in the back, the SRT has no chance off the line.
Don't get me wrong I looovvvvveeee Mustangs. Always have, always will. I think the 2010 is a sexy thing. And..don't even get me started on an 04 Cobra.
The premium fuel thing on the LS1 is no biggie. Before I put new gears in the back I easily squeezed out 22 mpg with the suburb style area I live in. Highway trips were easily 28mpg.
It's too bad that the new hippie wave sweeping the nation has no understanding of the performance to efficiency ratio. Such as the new Camaro. People bash it for being a 6.2 V8. News flash its also rated at 26 hwy, and knowing Chevy it probably does get that. At 425 or so horses, thats a damn amazing feat. Corvettes have been doing that for years though haha
If I had the money, my Camaro would be my everyday car and I'd have a Cobra for my weekend warrior.

That's fine and dandy but people fail to realize that 90% of racing done in America is either in a straight line or a very wide-turned oval. Ford, GM, and Chrysler aren't designing those cars to track run. It's cheap as hell though to turn one of those cars into a track monster. A few friends in a local club I'm in have turned their Firebirds into track gods that hang with the STIs all day. And their Firebirds plus the suspension components and other modifications still equate to less money than a brand new STi haha
