First off, those are Marines, not Army soldiers. Second off, this isn't wasting anymore money than normal target practice and range time would. We used to do this on a much larger scale at least once a week in Iraq. All that brass adds up to maybe $80 dollars, not even. Before complaining about how much money we waste on giving our troops valuable range time, think about how much we pay our representatives, governors, and mayors. This isn't even a drop in the bucket. Let them have a little fun. It's not easy letting your stress out when in a war zone.
Soup kitchens and financial aid for crack addicts: your tax dollars at work. It's silly to think that 100% of tax dollars are spent on purely productive things, even though they should. Then again, looking at how many people cut corners and slack off at work, it's not a big surprise.
