In my opinion, USA Network has become the best basic cable channel on television (in the US). Let's look at their show listing:
-Monk (USA Original)
-House (Acquired Program)
-Law and Order: SVU (Acquired Program)
-Law and Order: CI (USA Original)
-NCIS (Acquired Program)
-Burn Notice (USA Original)
-Psych (USA Original)
-Royal Pains (USA Original)
-White Collar (USA Original)
-Other Shows include In Plain Sight (USA Original) and WWE RAW.
Every one of those shows is simply excellent. (Though I'm not a huge fan of In Plain Sight, WWE, and to a lesser extent Royal Pains, yet. I may end up enjoying the show if I watch it more. Monk, House and L&O:SVU are all up for awards. The characters are memorable and easy to understand and most importantly, they are interesting. I am very excited that USA has not turned to "easy programming" like so many other channels. (Cartoon Network comes to mind quickly. Hell, CN has like 2 cartoons left, the rest are reality shows for teens.)
My favorite shows right now are Law and Order: CI and SVU, NCIS (I love how graphic they are with crime scenes), and Burn Notice. White Collar is premiering in October and looks to have the makings of another great show. (A con-artist is released from prison to help the authorities track down hard-core criminals using his con-artist knowledge.)
All-in-all, no matter when you turn on USA, they always have a good show playing. They don't do info-mercials during the night, they continue to play their shows.
Do you watch USA at all? Did you like it? Did you love it? What do you think?
