I do not intend to advertise in anyway here.
Why are used products on Amazon more expensive than new products?

I doubt that a book needed for a Business Studies GCSE is used by any celebrity :P

Depends. People need to make profit but sometimes when there is rare PS1 game they are expensive.

There are certain merchandises that are more expensive when used. For example, female underwear in Japan.

But what about books and gaming devices for PS3s and XBOXs? These aren't rare items that I'm talking about.

They might have listed the item when the new price was higher, so now Amazon have lowered the new price, their used items cost more than new. Or they might just be stupid, thinking people will pay them without checking the new price.

Your title is like a mis-translated Confucius quote. I must now ponder it's,existential, meaning....

They aren't as a rule. May happen once in awhile with some independent sellers....but that's not the usual.

Sometimes they're collectable condition though the majority of times the seller is waiting for amazon to stop selling it and for it to go out of production so you can only buy it used. It happens alot with music where a seller charges extortianate ammounts for an out of print album, the highest i've seen was 70 quid ($115) for a single disk standard album.
