Which one do you think is more important having vast knowledge or a high I.Q level and why?KillaHalo2o9
I would love some kinetic intelligence.
Vast Knowledge.
You can have the highest IQ in the world, and never decide to learn anything.

Good point.
Vast knowledge by a landslide. I think that IQ tests are BS. You can't really place a number on intelligence.t3hrubikscube84
Which one do you think is more important having vast knowledge or a high I.Q level and why?KillaHalo2o9Important to what?
i have an average I.Q ~90 but i have vast knowledge, i almost out wit my teachers from time to time.
This is like the difference between athletes. There are 3 types of athletes. Those who aren't naturally gifted, but try really hard. Those who are very athletically and/or mentally gifted for sports but don't reach their potential. And those who are both.
But the question is vast knowledge OR a high IQ level. I'll put it to you this way with my sports analogy. Somebody who isn't that naturally gifted but works very hard CAN make it to the highest level of a sport... such as being a bench player in the NBA. But somebody who is very athletic, but never works on his craft will never make it to that level.
So somebody with a high IQ would have the best ability to obtain vast knowledge and understand the world better than somebody without a high IQ... but if you never work at gaining knowledge or insight, then your IQ becomes useless.
So therefore, I'll take vast knowledge because I'd probably make more money for myself than being really smart but not knowing anything.
I'd say C, street smarts. I'm not saying having a high I.Q level is bad, but I'd rather know how to change my oil, than figure out atoms.metallica_fan42
scientist have done that for you :P anyways good point.
One of them can be acquired with the other (but the reverse does not hold true). As such, there is only one correct answer IMOrawsavoni was going to yell at you for not naming your choice, till i re-read my post.

Choosing 'x' means you 'can' have both. Choosing 'y' means that you cannot (have both). Why would a person limit themselves?

I think the ability to logically interpret, retain, and relate information is more important than the quantity of knowledge you have.quiglythegreatAgree'd

People do limit themselves all the time...that is their choice though.
'Life' has also imposes limits upon them.
My point was this:
Why would someone have another limit imposed upon them?
...now if they choose to limit themselves after that, then w/e...but at least you have to the choice to do that (where there is no choice with outside limits)
Also, I thought it (my answer) was pretty clear

as clear as when i said "i would rather be an unpolished gem then a filled bag of crap"Having a high I.Q. level opens doors that having vast knowledge cannot reach. Specialization has been key to success in this world for quite a while.
Vast knowledge is always helpful, but it won't get you $500,000 out of the gate.

If you takea real IQ test, a lot of it is just knowledge. Some is not. Although it usually follows that a high IQ leads to vast knowledge as you are able to soak up more information.
I know that most of the really smart people I know (including myself) know a lot of things about a lot of different areas of study just because we are able to process and retain information well. We don't have to try as hard, I guess.
One of them can be acquired with the other (but the reverse does not hold true). As such, there is only one correct answer IMOrawsavonSee, I thought about that... but the question says OR. So you can either have one or the other... you can't use one to obtain the other. Although the question doesn't make much sense, because in order to have vast knowledge, you'd have to have somewhat of a high IQ to be able to understand more complex things.
While a high IQ is great because you can process information and figure things out faster than someone of lower IQ, vast knowledge is the best. This is, if you can integrate all of the knowledge into a discernable whole that your brain can use whenever you need it. If it is actually learned, then you don't require high IQ, as the knowledge would not only include the basic information as to why and how something works, but also in the way that you can use it as well (the applied use). A person of high IQ would have to still learn this knowledge, or the expansive processing capability of their mind would be mostly useless. This would be like having an awesome gun with no ammo or the newest fastest processor in a computer with no software to run on it other than its basic operating system. The exception is for them to attempt to explain the way the universe works or some unified theory. It has its points and is needed, but I would rather have vast knowledge with how to use it. This is more applicable to the average person that isn't working in some think tank, but could be depending on the amount of knowledge. I choose knowledge over IQ and I consider myself somewhat intelligent.
See, I thought about that... but the question says OR. So you can either have one or the other... you can't use one to obtain the other. Although the question doesn't make much sense, because in order to have vast knowledge, you'd have to have somewhat of a high IQ to be able to understand more complex things. Wow the site is working again? 'OR' is not synonymous with an infinite amount of time though. 'OR' means right now. The question (as it was asked) was not if you want _______ and only __________ for the rest of your life. I would rather start with intelligence and build from there[QUOTE="rawsavon"]One of them can be acquired with the other (but the reverse does not hold true).
