Which are you and what is your take on the healthiest things to eat? I'm just curious so tell me all about it!

Why do you choose the lifestyle that you do? Is it purely about a diet or does it involve other things like politics or religious reasons?

edit: To clarify for everyone, a vegan doesn't eat anything from animals (ie egg, cheese, milk, meat) and a vegeterian eats no meat but still other animal products, and an omnivor or all-eater eats a mix of both animal and vegetable.

(to PETA-fanatics and animal-munchers alike: keep it clean, guys)

No meatitarian?

Nevermind...I found it.

Or maybe I'm a meatan. I don't use spices on my meat as they contain some kind of dried plant.

A vegetarian might eat dairy products were a vegan wont touch them. My understanding anyway.

The only thing I like about vegetarian lifestyle is that the fact that 1 field of vegetables can keep a lot more people fed than any meat form of food. It takes a ton of energy and land to make meat.... With that said good luck convincing me giving up a sirloin for a field of potatoes.

I was brought up a vegetarian by my parents but have switched to omnivore because not only is meat tasty and its easier to be able to eat anything but if i was killed and put up on a shelf to be eaten i wouldnt want to feel like i went to waste and rotted away :(

I eat healthy. I don't restrict my diet for arbitrary reasons. Cutting out food groups is silly because it both removes those items of food from potential meals you can make or order at restaurants, and it axes an entire avenue that can be used to insert variety into your meal routines from day to day. Having said that, I will eat vegetarian or even vegan meals once in a while for something different, but I always have the knowledge that I can eat a nice juicy steak the next day or pour milk into my cereal and not soy phlegm. I like having variety, and occasionally removing or cutting back on meat can make for interesting meals.

to make meat according to industry standards...yes, it takes a lot.

But to make meat (beef) all you need is a field to pasture the steer on. For swine, all you need is basically any food waste, of which humans make quite a bit of even in lean times.

As for the topic, well, I like everything...I am omnivore, like my totem animal the bear. I dont eat much beef though, I prefer fish and chicken. I really love good, practical vegetarian food, specifically Indian cuisine.

Do not ever show me a Tofurkey or a vegan burger, though, that is vegetarians having the completely wrong idea.

Yeah, that's just vegetarians who still wish they could eat meat. If you're going to go vegetarian, eat vegetarian. Tofurkey is like someone who wishes they had a Ferrari, and cobbles together an approximation by painting a racing stripe on a Geo Metro.

Wow, not many Vegans or Vegetarians in OT.
I'm a Omnivore (I feel like I'm talking about dinosaurs)
I eat meat, but I'm not very big on red meats. If I do eat like, steak it has to be really lean because I hate chewing on fat >.> Call me picky.
Most of the meat I eat is like hot dogs, lunch meats, bacon, shredded chicken, tuna, etc.
I LOURVE Almonds, and Pineapple.

My take on Healthy would be eating Almonds, Pineapple, White Peaches, Plumbs, Tuna, and Oatmeal regularly.
I'm not big on vegetables, though if I had to choose, I would go with Lettuce, Celery, Cauliflower, Carrots, and/or Broccoli.

Maybe cut pineapple out of there, throw in spinach and cabbage and yeah! That's pretty healthy.

Pineapples are much too acidic for your body (in large amounts,i should say).

The less acidic your diet is, the better.
