You have the pop up now? It is probably too late for you to delete it. Try avast I guess. Don't be surprised if you have to reformat.

How could you download stuff and not get virus's? or pop ups? I mean, yeah. Do you download then scan the file then open it or what? i dont even understand the virus-protecting procedure.

AVG, Avast, and AntiVir are the mostwell-known free antiviruses.

I use AntiVir and recommend it. It's incredibly light on system resources and has the best detection rate even out of all the paid programs (see av-comparatives.org)

Since you're getting pop ups, you're probably infected with spyware/adware andnot a virus. I suggest downloading the free version of SUPERAntiSpyware @ superantispyware.com.

well there are 3 steps, either download google pop-up blocker (the bar thing)
or download a anti virus protector, AVG Free Edition which will most likely protect you from pop ups
or SP2
and last is a optional one, google one. good luck.

Pretty good chance that pop ups are adware/spyware...i'd get a free antivirus (avast or avg) but also get some antispyware protections (adaware, spybot, etc)
