Saw the news on Aint It Cool News.

Disney decided not to go forward with further production of the third film base on the Narnia books, mainly due the the noticeable drop of people that went to the first one compared the the fewer who went to the Second film.

How sad! I really wished that they would have at least gotten to the Silver Chair before cancelling. Prince Caspian was always the worst out of the series-that's why it flopped. But the later ones were simply amazing!

Wait. . .Disney is no longer co-producing or funding it, but that doesn't mean the movie will be completely dropped. Perhaps they'll still do it, though it will probably be dramatically different from the last two. . . .I just can't believe they'd drop it after they got casting, a release date and concept art/animations all ready.

Well, Walden Media often works closely with Fox; perhaps they could take it up.

If they weren't just in it for the money, then everything would be ok. But since it dropped a couple million, they had to jet. Oh Hollywood. Grow some.

That's Hollywood.

"We just wanna make money, we don't care about making a movie about a book that so many people wanna see."

999realthings

Looking at the numbers between the first and second films, you can't blame them too much. It IS a business, and it doesn't make sense to put money into a film that possibly only a handful of people might see.
