I guess it might have been updated, I don't seem to recall the main page displaying text whenever you hovered over the headlines. Anyway, I really haven't noticed any major changes to Gamespot myself. I keep thinking though, I wonder if Gamespot will change again anytime in the near-future?
You visit the main page? Lol, I haven't done that in years.
But that's how you sign in through the main page?! Right?
OOPS! I meant Login-in to Gamespot on the main page.
(This is what happens when your typing fast at work lol)

My favourite for the site goes directly to the forum index, and you can log-in from there. I also let Firefox remember my info and the site keeps me signed in for months at a time.
I have literally not been to the main page in years. Especially not since the new site renovation and their prioritizing comment traffic over the forum community. They get zero ad revenue from me.

Adblock? Because there is enough ads in the forums as well.

Yeah. I still see the header/footer ones, but I try to avoid as many of them as I can.

Ok. They have put in between posts as well. Or testing with some users =/

That'll probably be the finisher for me. I already don't come here very often anymore and intrusive ads are the last thing I want to see on this forum.

It took a bit of work with Adblock, but I get zero ads on GameSpot now. I rarely frequent the forums these days so it doesn't matter much anyway, but I absolutely hated all those shitty ads they had floating around the forums.
As for the homepage, I haven't visited it since the change over from the old layout 10+ years back (or however long it's been). It was ugly and shitty looking when they changed and I'm guessing it's still butt ugly now.
@foxhound_fox: You can probably add custom filters to your AdBlock to prevent them at their source. I haven't seen an ad on this site in almost 6 months now, else I would definitely have left. Got to the point there were as many ads on the page as words!

I have honestly not bothered with adblock. If the ads are to annoying, I end up not visiting the site.

Wut? Man, there most be a parallel universe for people without adblock.

You replied to my last post over 2 days ago - shows you how often I even come to the forums here anymore. But as you can see, AdBlock blocks a lot of crap (plus what I've told it to) here on GS. I'm not impressed with dwindling population on the forums nor with the way the website went when it shifted directions so many years ago and hasn't really improved upon anything since.
@neatfeatguy: I'm not opposed to adblock. Also I think GS tried to do something with when unique visitors began going down. Probably not unique for this site, but I suspect social websites like Facebook has "stolen" a lot of potential users from forums around the world.
