Walking Dead Season 5 Discussion! (SPOILERS GALORE!)

The Walking Dead hath returned and what a return it was! Premiere was freaking CRAZY and probably the best the series has seen yet (season 3 being the one contender I can think of)!
Very surprised how swiftly Terminus was dealt with.

Gotta say that Carol keeps making a strong case for my fav character on the show. Her development throughout the series has left her an awesome character. Was also nice to see Tyreese not be useless for a change...

That big reveal of Morgan following the group was also crazy! Curious to see what kind of role he will be playing. In general I now have no idea where this season is gonna go. With Terminus already done I suppose the group will likely keep trekking to DC. I will say that I do think Gareth is not gone for good. He did not die so I fully expect him to return at some point.

Anyways, who else watched the premiere and what did you all think?

One of the best episodes they've ever created. It almost makes up for that lackluster season 4.

I just hope the momentum carries throughout the rest of the season.

Lol wut? Thought season 4 was the best season yet...

The first 8 episodes consisted of a flu attack and a wrap up of the governor storyline that by all rights should have been wrapped up in season 3.

The latter 8 was slow and had a few good ones here and there.

Damn this episode was awesome.

That walker gnawing on that persons face was lol though.

Despite people thinking that Walking Dead is suppose to be some kind of action horror show and judging the episodes by how many people die and by how many headshot counts there were, I thought the last episodes of season 4 were great because of how much development went into the characters showing human instinct and emotions. Most of this new episode looked like it was to please all the trigger happy, blood thirsty fans. I thought the last few minutes where Derryl reuniting with Carol, Rick with Judith and Tyrese with his sister was the best part of the episode and of course, the Morgan reveal! Hopefully the next episode will show a reunion with Beth. The car she was kidnapped in the last season looked like a car from a church and they showed a preacher in the "next episode" scenes. It's going to be good.

I thought the flu epidemic was brilliant! Hell, one of my fav episodes of the entire show was the episode where Hershel has all those people dying from the flu and coming back as walkers and he struggles to keep a hand on the situation.

I will agree that the Governor story should have been wrapped up by then, but at least the fall of the prison was absolutely GLORIOUS!

This premiere was pretty bad ass.

Don't have your hopes up. Yes, the premier was great and fast moving, but they usually put all their bells and whistles in the first episode and then nothing happens until the last 2-3 episodes of the season.

When I watch it with my jxd tablet I found that walker was so funny though.Hahahah

That is not true. You only have to go back to the season 4 premier last year to see how slow it was. The season 2 premier was also slow.

Great episode. Tbh I wasn't expecting them to be done with the Terminus from episode 1. I'm also very interested in seeing what role Morgan is gonna play in the coming episodes.

They built Terminus up so much last season that I felt it was kind of weird they ended the plotline so quickly this season.

I gotta say, I like this Rick much more than in previous seasons.

I'm never going to watch The Walking Dead on TV ever again, though. I don't know if it was an issue with my cable provider or what, but the entire episode was basically bigger than the TV screen allowed. No, it wasn't an issue with the TV(I checked and changed every viewing option there was). Also, the last three minutes of the episode were cut off because it went directly to The Talking Dead. So I didn't see Morgan(the masked guy) at the end, or the flashback from Terminus.

I had actually decided that if this season of TWD was as crappy as the last 2 I would stop watching it. After this episode I have some faith in it. To me TWD only works as an action-packed show since they have failed to really make me care about any of the characters; sure, I kind of want them to succeed but I would have sacrificed any of them (except Judith and Carl, I have a thing with children =P) in exchange for something remotely exciting happening the last couple of seasons. They don't make "deep and emotional" well enough for me to feel invested...

Here where i am, we watch such serials only from Internet, no single cable operator broadcast such movies...

@airshocker: Oh, trust me. The Terminus location might be gone, but this isn't the last we're gonna see of Gareth and the Termites. I won't say more than that, except that where we are right now, is my personal favorite of TWD trades, and also by far the most scary.

It was great. Though not what i expected.

Like Airshocker, i expected more with Terminus. i mean, i expected them to break out on their own by the end of the episode, all on there own, i mean it was really luck how they escaped. kinda lackluster. Glenn got lucky several times. I expected them to get out on their own.

Though i will say, with playing Dishonored recently, that scene with Rick and Darryl kinda hiding and watching all the terminus people walk by, then rick slips out and takes out the last one. instantly made me think of dishonored. The way he was holding the knife and everything.

However, i gotta say. Motherfucking Carol to the rescue. Even after being kickd out of the group by Rick, she still saves their asses. And is also able to get Darryls Crossbow in the process.

I will honestly say, i got teary eyed with the Darryl/Carol reunion and Rick and Carl/Judith reunion.

Though a question arises, How did Carol know to disguise herself? she wasnt with Rick and them during the first season, where they disguised themselves. Did she pick that up later? or what?

and did Michonne get her sword back? at the end, it doesnt look like she did. she still had her modified sheath.
and how did Maggie have that watch? wouldnt they have taken it away from her?

Also, i apparently missed it, but what was the connection between Morgan and Terminus?

i really hope Rick gets to keep his word and kill Gareth with the red handed machete.

What a great start! That opening scene was just nuts and really got the ride going all the way to the end. I did see a couple of previews here and there prior but I don't really know where the show will be going this season. I never read the books too but once a new character gets introduce or what not that interests me, I do lightly read up just a little bit on that character. I know we'll see more of Gareth, Terminus and the people from there. I also watch Talking Dead and they said they will do some more flashbacks and I think we'll see even more why these Terminus people became like that.

I think showing something after the credits beside the preview for the next episode is new to the show. So when they did that to show Morgan was so good. Also to answer a question from above, I think Morgan was just following the signs to Terminus like other people but he was also following the signs Rick made. In the episode where Morgan was crazy, Rick told him since he didn't want to come with him, he'll leave signs so Morgan can follow them if he changes his mind. So I'm guessing since he's not that insane anymore, he's ready to join Rick.

But yeah the first episode was really good. Almost everything was resolved in this episode. Carol and Tyrese been made up, Daryl seeing Carol again, Carol and Rick are in good terms, Rick and the kids are together, and Tyrese and his sister are together again. But Glen still haven't told Maggie about that girl being in the group that killed her dad though. Not sure if that matters still though. And they still need to find Beth. In a preview I saw, she's going through some stuff but I think that will make her stronger. I'm a TWD fan so I will watch it till the end. It seems like it's going to be even more nuts this season, looking forward to watch some more.

Also I began watching Z Nation on SyFy channel. I thought it was stupid at first but then that's the point especially when it's on SyFy channel so I began to enjoy it some more. It's just a light hearted alternative to the more serious dramatic TWD. I continue to watch both and I'm curious when will they start showing the companion show for TWD.

They need to start offing people again, the group is getting way too big.

Loved the first episode. Dont think terminus is finished yet, have a feeling we will see those people again. Hopefully it doesnt drag on like the governor though. They pretty much repeated that story.

In other news that was the best episode since 18 Miles Out and I can't wait for Gareth and the Hunters to catch up with Rick and co.

Dat episode ending! This show has gotten way dark for being on basic cable and I certainly love it!

Very interested to see how events unfold here. Haven't read the comic so I have no idea.

I definitely like how dark it's getting. Cannibalism creeps me the **** out.

I like it even more that in such a world, cannibalism is kind of practical. Really just makes things more interesting IMO.

It seemed like Garret knew Bob before. maybe Bob used to be apart of their group or something. iirc, we never really knew much about the group Bob was in before Darryl found him. but he seemed a bit shady about revealing anything.

looks like next week focuses on the group. im thinking the next episode after that will focus on Darryl and Carol.

also wonder if Michonne is gonna get her sword back.

Didn't expect the Terminus bunch to catch up to them so fast. I wonder if they're collaborating with that priest, he seems suspicious enough. Also, poor Bob, he's never gonna be the same again(obviously) - I assume he will die sooner or later. Too bad Gareth didn't give him a taste of his own flesh lol.

So, they replaced Dale with Bob, that's interesting. I wonder how close there gonna stick to the comics. There is so much I wanna say about everything that's happening here, but I don't wanna spoil future episodes.

This show is absolutely disgusting, and for some reason I love it. I kinda know this particular story from the comics and I for one hope they stick really close to the source material. Eating someone's leg in front of them is about as dark as you can possibly go. It should get even better next episode if the source material holds true.
