Thoughts?

I don't really like the changes made to Nite Owl, Ozymandias, or Silk Spectre.

Actually Silk Specter doesn't look that bad.

And Rorshach looks awesome, but it's pretty hard to **** that design up anyway.

But that image of the Comedian is simply PERFECTION. Oh my God, they couldn't have gotten the look of him any better.

Good lord, man. This is only one of the most important and critically acclaimed comic book series ever made. One of the very few comic book series that belongs in the "literature" section of your local bookstore. It was not only a historic and groundbreaking series in the comic book medium, but is a fascinating and mature rumination on morality, humanity, and authority.

Anyone who has ANY interest in superheroes needs to pick up this book. $20 at Barnes and Noble, you will NOT regret it.

The only problem is that the book is complex enough that I am worried that it cannot possibly be done justice as a movie. Much like Dune, I suspect that it is a tale that can never be properly told in movie form.

But DAMN. The Comedian looks AMAZING.

I think it's just the second pic, they need to work on him.

It may be the effects that the pictures have that may make them look like that.

I haven't read the book yet, but I'm intrigued by the look. Hopefully, this is a comic adaption aimed for adults.

It's a movie being directed by Zach Snyder (300, Dawn of the Dead.) It's supposed to be released next year.

I'm not a big comics fan, so I've never read it, but I know of the movie and comic lol. Sorry for the lack of knowledge, but who is the 2nd character? The actor looks like the guy who played Assistant Director Brad Follmer on The X-Files lol.

Edit: Nm, I thought it was Cary Elwes, but it's not him.

I, uh, er- oh. Wow. This is the first time I've heard about this. I think the costumes are generally okay. They just need a little polishing, I think. Except for the commedian, he does look amazing. I also have to agree with MrGeezer that making a movie of the Watchmen is like making a movie for Dune, and if I may be so bold, Harry Potter. Yeah, I read them. Their good books. Anyway, this movie will be too short, unless they plan on making like, six four hour movies. I think titles like this are best left to T.V. mini-series. Sure it doesn't bring the cash of a big movie, but I think that if you want to correctly represent good fiction like this you HAVE to have room to tell the story. Whatever, all IMO I guess.....

Anybody who hasn't read the graphic novel should drop what they are doing right now, go out, and buy it. I've only read it twice about two years ago and I honestly don't remember much, but I will read it again soon. One thing that I do remember is that it left a huge impression.

I thought they all looked pretty neat when seeing it on that earlier thread, but on a second glance Ozymandias doesn't look very spectacular. He needs to look more golden and bright IMO. And sure of himself.

I hope they stay true to the story, even with the implications for my favourite character.
