want to become a sports announcer? plz help

hey guys, i was wondering if anyone knows how to (or the steps) in becoming a sports announcer. i am living in canada, but would really love an on air job announcing basketball. i wanted to know if anyone here has any tips or is actually in the field to guide me in a certain direction. thanks for your help in advance!

I am not a sports announcer so i would don't know any tips but my advice to you is the listen to the best sports announcers and learn from them.

Get a good degree in broadcast journalism. Then you will have to work your way to where you want to get.

my point exactly. there are a lot of announcers that did not play professional sports. one being marv albert, another being stuart scott (hate him). so maybe its just luck of the draw i guess
