After watching a video the other day about Jesus camp, I stumbled upon this video about Christianity trying to fight off evolution:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6xKDKq_PPbk&mode=related&search=

The video is pretty scary some of the things they are trying to engrave in the children's head. Probably the line that struck me most astonishing was: "Who should you always trust first, God or a Scientist?" Children: "God!"

Fighting off evolution is like fighting off gravity. No matter how hard you deny it's existence, it still happens.

Not mainstream catholics (for the most part). Most catholics believe that since the bible was written by men, that taking a fundamentalist view of it (taking it literally) is a mistake. So taking the creation story told in the bible as the absolute literal truth, is also a mistake. Although the Roman Church doesn't exactly brag about it, starting with Vatican II, the church does accept the basics of evolution: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Evolution_and_the_Roman_Catholic_Church#Post_Vatican_II

Most of them won't, actually, but the few who do will make a difference.

Thank you Catholics :) I guess the Vatican learned it hurts to fight scientists on things like Heliocentrism, the Earth being flat, etc, only to be proven wrong.

That's disgusting.  I dont get why Christians can't believe in both evolution and God, like my parents.

But no, a book, written over 1500 years ago by MAN, that has undergone numerous translation, it ALWAYS correct.  Pathetic.  I do indeed think that people who don't believe in evolution are ignorant.

I believe they were trying to teach that man and dinosaurs co-existed.

My friend is like these people, but he believes man planted dinosaur bones. Its pretty scary how much he defends something that is clearly wrong.
