I know I know...mockumentary and all, yeah, I know that borat himself is not real and that he is an actor...but the guys he "interviewed" in the movie, were they actors too? or just pedestrians/regular people who actually thought they were being interviewed by a foreign person? it just looked so realistic to me (the reaction of the people and their "acting", not borat's acting)

but even though it looks as "real" I doubt it is, because of the part when he kidnaps pamela anderson...the girl had like 4 bodyguards behind her, any bodyguard would have stuffed borat's back with a bunch of bullets in 2 seconds as soon as they saw the person they were supposed to be guarding was getting abducted.

so anyone knows if it was real or if everything was scripted?

It was proven that at least some of the situations were faked, like the whole Pamela Anderson kidnapping attempt and when he gets on the RV with the guys. However there were lawsuits involved so that does prove that some things were real.

most of it was real, like the dinner where he brought the prostitute and some stuff was staged but it was still funny nonetheless

I think Kazakhstan tried to sue the film makers for showing their country in such a bad way. xD

I relly get the feeling that when he was in texas "singing" his national anthem, that nobody in the audience understood he was making a mockumentary.

Actually, those guys in the RV sued him so I do think that was real.

The only thing misleading about that situation was the editing, they made is seem like that crowd were really stupid when in fact they were booing him pretty much from the start of his idiotic speech.

No they wouldn't have. Celebrities get harassed all the time but that doesn't mean that their bodyguards can kill the person. Pamela Anderson agreed to the stunt beforehand but her bodyguards didn't.

harassing is one thing, getting put into a bag by someone who then tries to run away will be considered kidnapping by anyone

I like to think it's all real. That makes it more funny. :)

They still wouldn't pull out a gun and kill the guy.

no, but she is protected nonetheless...if you pay someone to protect you then you'd expect he'd do anything to keep you safe, like I said being harassed is one thing but when you are getting kidnapped is a different one, even if you aint the president, im sure most bodyguards would not hesitate to shoot someone who is kidnapping their protegee

most of the situations were real , but I think some things like the attempt to Kidnap Pamela Anderson were fake, otherwise she would have taken him to court.

funny enough the language he was speaking in the whole movie , which is described as the language of Kazahstan , is actually Hebrew, which is ironic.

Lol, anyone can hire a bodyguard..that doesn't mean they have the right to murder someone and not face any consequences. I feel you've been watching too many movies.

For some reason people don't seem to agree with me on this but... It feels rather boring because the people around him know it's fake.

Example: Borat drops a chicken out of his suitcase on the subway. Normally those people would go: "WTH?????????????? :| :| THIS IS SO WEIRD!!!1" and their reactions would feel authenthic BUT... They obviously must have a rather big camera to shoot this with, so obviously those people would know that this is some kind of fake drama for some kind of tv show. This means that their reactions (which is the fun part to watch) are pretty much faked and all that.

So in other words... Borat sucks.
