was everyone in predator (1987) on steroids??

i just watched it today, it's a great movie (i preferred predators though) but everyone is insanely ripped, it's sorta gross.

why so much steroids in the 80s? the movies i mean

i thought adrien brody was actually pretty good, but his voice was too forced on several occasions. he got in amazing shape for that as well. didn't look too steroidy as well.

You know what's underrated? Predator 2 with danny glover. That movie was awsome.

Also, Predator is a better movie than the modern film. That being said, they were both pretty good.

The 1980ties were the time when action heroes were supposed to look muscular and manly, thus steroids were probably used aswell as gallons of baby oil.

There were a few scrawny guys in there. The perverted guy with the glasses and the other scrawny guy who gets hit by the swinging log. Mac wasent that buff....

i don't see how steroids make anyone more manly.....i think it's pretty pathetic. it's funny to look back on it now, but it looks unnatural and pretty stupid.

as in the expendables, while jet li was the littlest (and i'm sure the least toned), he was the only (bar statham) proper martial artist. he's kick stallones ass no problem.

You enjoyed Predators more? seriously? that is the most obvious, unoriginal movie i've ever seen, I guessed everything that happened in it and it was just painful and boring, Predator is a million times better.

In the 70's and 80's a lot of people took steroids.

Predator is my fav action movie of all time by far and i loved predator 2 and predators lol it was like the same as predator i still enjoyed it but adrien brodies voice just LOL

As for the steroid thing none of the actors in Predator took steroids around the time of the movie Arnie only took em after he stopped proffesional body building for awhile around a few years before predator to just maintain the muscle and let him work it down to a easier to maintain body so he could do movies, Carl Weathers was just buff from coming off the Rocky movies, Jesse Ventura was buff from because of working out every day for wrestling and Billy was just some1 who worked out none of them took steroids for the movie.

That film is a classic, it's so awesome in so many ways. When Arnold puts his sun glasses on, when he smokes his cigar, when he does the badass handshake. One of the coolest films ever. :lol:

Steroids were highly used in the 80's so Jesse the Body yes, Arnold yes, Apolla, probably. Oh by the Way Predator > Predators > Predator 2.
