Any publicity is good publicity when it comes to celebrities

Doesn't play out that way......the Swift girl was upset. Beyonce looked surprised. Nah....publicity stunts are one thing but no one does that to a winner at an award show as a publicity stunt. Ego means one doesn't consider others. It's all about the me. Kanye has an ego. I don't think that's up for debate.I personally think it is. I seriously doubt he did that just to be outspoken about how he felt. I really do think they're both in on this. Kanye West is not a heartless guy.

It would be incredibly easy to set up
MTV goes to Kayne West......"we need some ratings, will you do this stunt? You'll probably sell more CDs"
Kayne West agrees
Kayne West goes to Taylor Swift and asks her permission
They all agree. They all win. More ratings. More publicity. More music sold.

While the ego thing is true--I just don't see security letting this guy up on stage so easily in the middle of someone elses award speech. Especially, when they know the history of how this man acts during award shows. Maybe Swift and Beyonce might've not been in on this little stunt of his--but I still think it's likely that MTV had this planned with West to create the next "craze of the moment".

Security is meant to keep non stars away.....not celebrities. MTV would not have done that to someone else's acceptance speech. And I'm not defending MTV because I find them useless.Probably. I didnt know Taylor Swift untill i saw it and i probably would have forgotten her in a minute if he didnt do that.
I think she's big with the younger crowd.....Probably. I didnt know Taylor Swift untill i saw it and i probably would have forgotten her in a minute if he didnt do that.

In the sense that it was him doing something moronic to earn more exposure, yes. If it was intended for the purpose of popularity though, it has backfired somewhat.

Maybe not at all, if the popularity boost was always intended for Taylor Swift to begin with--while making Beyonce look even better in the process.

I doubt Kanye West would want to be involved with something that would lessen his popularity.
I doubt an award show would do that to a younger recipient.I doubt it. It wouldn't seem like that would sell more CD's at all.
Kanye West has done this many time before anyway.
Wouldnt be surprised if his publicist just recommended that then some sort of apology afterwards (which was the biggest joke ever).... still man, I never respected him, but now i look down upon him, I mean some harmless country chick won that thing fair and square while kayne steals her moment to try to get the attention of some whore who just shakes her ass in every video......Any publicity is good publicity when it comes to celebrities

I don't find it hard to believe. If it was, Kanye's ego is worse than I thought, for him to believe that we don't think he's that much of an idiot to do something so completely stupid on his very own-he must be nuts.
[QUOTE="RJay123"][QUOTE="horgen123"]It's not like he needs more attention than he already gets. horgen123Any celebrity needs all the attention they can get. It's their profession To much of it isn't good for you. And even with celebs there is such a thing as stepping over the line.....

That so called whore is easily one of the hardest working woman in show biz. And her success comes from more then just shaking her ass. Taylor Swift could only dream of being on her level and even though West was out of line--I personally do agree that Beyonce's video was definitely better then Taylor's and obviously much more popular.
I doubt an award show would do that to a younger recipient.
Do what? Help her gain more popularity--i'm sure she can handle it if that is the actual case.
Also to Sam--he is known for his bad behavior at these award shows. He really has nothing to lose. People will always remember him for those actions at these events. Most likely, most will forgive him and will also continue to buy his music as well. They say any publicity is good publicity right?
Beyonce's an actor as well so it doesn't take much for her to pass off a fake reaction as a genuine one.
TecmoGirlAny award show that humilated it's winners would soon lose celebrity appearances. Thus, no viewers. Loss of revenue. Not a good business decision. Why are you attempting to defend Kanye when this ISN'T out of character for him?
i dont understand how you figure that. look at lindsey lohan, no one is going to hire her. Look at tom cruz, no one is going to hire him, etc etc. This kanye stuff is bad publicity, plain and simpleAny publicity is good publicity when it comes to celebrities

It's better to have people talk about you, good or bad. Now people will think...."Kayne West did that mean thing on MTV......hmmm...oh Kayne West has a CD coming out!"I doubt it. It wouldn't seem like that would sell more CD's at all.

Well this isn't a frequent occurrence so it's nothing they have to worry about(even though I doubt that would happen anyways). They wouldn't bother showing it during the re-runs if it was possibly that detrimental to their business. I've heard nothing of them removing it.
This is just something for people to talk about--staged or not. And i'm not trying to defend Kanye--I just don't understand why people think it's so far-fetched that it was staged just because this type of behavior from him isn't out of character for him. If anything, that makes it easier to pull a stunt like this at the awards. The benefits of this are obviously great for all three of them in terms of publicity(especially Swift).

They do have to worry. Their credibility is on the line. I don't think it was set up. It was Kanye....Please Log In to post.
