I'd say that's good for the price, especially with the Xbox thrown in.

3rd gen i7 should serve your needs easily. Had to check the graphics card, unfamiliar with laptop cards but it looks like you'll just about be able to play modern games at least on low, but it's struggling with some (benchmarks). Battlefield 3 on low preset averaged 39fps and Skyrim on medium averaged 32fps in their tests, though you can probably tweak the settings a bit to improve the graphics.

8GB RAM is good, the 5400RPM HDD I don't know about, they're sort of slow compared to 7200s and SSDs but for the price you can't really complain.

Webcam, nice size screen with acceptable res for the size, bluray... seems good to me.

Though you may want to check how the battery is, no mention of how long it lasts there.

Should've went with a desktop if you wanted to game. Laptops lose their mobile purpose when you try to carry one the weighs a ton.

Well, the Xbox wasn't free really. It wsa just a hidden price included with the PC, and the GB on that 360 is terrible. You should get it upgraded to a larger one.

But overall it seems like a good deal, just depends on what you plan to use it for. For gaming Laptops have crap battery life, so I recommend getting it upgraded.

Also you should sell that 360 towards a PS3, PS3 is so much better. I have both, trust me. PS3 wins, best system this gen.

Hmm well not necessarily. Since I presume this was a deal offered to students, it's a form of price discrimination.

What? Those specs are more than sufficient for a huge selection of games. Won't be maxing out things at 1080p with 60fps, but even on the latest intel chips you can run lots of stuff competently. http://www.notebookcheck.net/NVIDIA-GeForce-GT-630M.63761.0.html

I'd say this. Friend of mine got a laptop about a week ago, higher clock speed, same gpu, $400 less. Although you did get a free xbox 360, so you're not totally losing out.
