I just finished The Name of the Wind by Patrick Rothfuss, and it was phenomenal. Highly recommended. I'm starting The Grapes of Wrath now.

The Bourne Ultimatum- Robert Ludlum.
Will read American Psycho after it and then Metro 2033 when the book is released.
I'm reading Dune right now, definitely in my top 5 books I've ever read.
After this I'll probably pick up A Game of Thrones and give it another chance. I'll read at least half of it this time, and if it still can't make a good impression I'll move on to better books.
Also, here's a slighly-old picture of my book collection:

What's it about? No! You have to read all of it or you simply won't get it! :cry:I'm reading Dune right now, definitely in my top 5 books I've ever read.

A legendary man tells a scribe his life story and how he came to become legendary. The book alternates between first person and third person narrative, and it's very interesting. It's the first of a trilogy, called the Kingkiller Chronicle.
I'm currently reading "The Gathering Storm" by Robert Jordon/Brandon Sanderson. I'm only about 400 pages in, but man, It's sure epic. Sanderson is apparently close to finishing the next, and as an avid Wheel of Time fan, I'm psyched for it.

Really, it takes Martin a whole 800 pages to make the book interesting & worthwhile...
If you and the others love it this much I suppose I'll read it all no matter what, but if it still can't cut it I am definitely gonna' write one heck of an angry blog. :P
If listening to audiobooks count, right now I'm almost done listening to part one of halo: ghosts of onyx.

For school, and pleasure- The Fountainhead by Ayn Rand
For pleasure, I hope to begin The Grapes of Wrath soon
A Dirty Jobby Christopher Moore...for like the tenth time. I love the book so much; the humor is so dark, and yet the tone of the book is lighthearted at the same time. That quite a feat imo.
I liked Fluke better... A Dirty Job is probably my 2nd favorite of his, though.A Dirty Job

Yeah, Coyote Blue (it was OK), Practical Demonkeeping (liked it, but never finished it...I should go back to it), Bloodsucking Fiends (liked it, but not his best), You Suck (sequel to Bloodsucking Fiends...Not as good for me, but still worth reading, I guess) My wife read one...Either The Stupidest Angel or Biff: Christ's Pal or something like that...I don't remember, she didn't seem too enthused about it, whatever it was.

I liked Fluke better... Intellectuals and Society by Thomas Sowell is currently on my chopping block.
Product DescriptionThe influence of intellectuals is not only greater than in previous eras but also takes a very different form from that envisioned by those like Machiavelli and others who have wanted to directly influence rulers. It has not been by shaping the opinions or directing the actions of the holders of power that modern intellectuals have most influenced the course of events, but by shaping public opinion in ways that affect the actions of power holders in democratic societies, whether or not those power holders accept the general vision or the particular policies favored by intellectuals. Even government leaders with disdain or contempt for intellectuals have had to bend to the climate of opinion shaped by those intellectuals.Intellectuals and Society not only examines the track record of intellectuals in the things they have advocated but also analyzes the incentives and constraints under which their views and visions have emerged. One of the most surprising aspects of this study is how often intellectuals have been proved not only wrong, but grossly and disastrously wrong in their prescriptions for the ills of society—and how little their views have changed in response to empirical evidence of the disasters entailed by those views. I don't usually read, but I'm currently reading Rainbow Six. It's going to take me yeeaaaarrssss to finish :P
I'll probably have to drop it for awhile soon though, as I need to write 3 essay-things on 3 different books that meet different criteria. I currently have 1 out of 3 ready to write about. :(
