We still support you Gamespot.

Partially in response to the hotspot and partially because I have grown to love gamespot over the years I think it would be great to have a thread with messages of support and thanks for those still at Gamespot.

Personally, thank you for coming out and talking to us. I was sad, angry and somewhat hurt by all that went on but am also happy to see you guys staying and keeping the dream alive. I don't plan on abandoning this awesome community that you have built up.

I also love it here, and anyone that has ever talked to me knows that, I come for the community more than anything else, and I hope things smooth out and settle back down. I usually spend most of my free time here, and will probably do so until the place closes or they kick me out :lol:double_decker

Yep.

i come here for reviews and i never liked Jeff's. so... i can't say i really care about this from the perspective of Jeff not being here. i just hope that one of my favorite gaming sites isn't a corporate whore. but honestly i haven't seen enough conclusive evidence (fanboy rantings, conspiracy theories and speculation aside) to prove or disprove that.

I am starting to change my view completely around. I was mad at gamespot, but now i am starting to really get pissed of at its members. I mean they spam, hate, commit "account suicides" etc. So think about.... They are no better than Gamespot in my opinion. They go around and totally ruin the site for other members.

And for people calling Gamespot a CashWhore, can you please point at a business that isnt? Basically every business the World is hungry for money, so for you to single out Gamespot only, shows how narrow-minded you guys can get. Sheesh.....

GS is part of my life. I spend at least 2-3 hours a day here, and GS keeps me up to date on games and the systems daily. Keep it up GS

Well i'd like to say thanks to the staff, over the last week they've still managed to hold this site together, through the revolution and losing a close colleauge.

They deserve to be applauded for this.

I still support gamespot, if i lost that i'd lose part of me and £22.

Thanks Gamespot.ALL of mydecisions on whichgames to buy were made after checking them out on this site. And the forums have given me loads of entertainment.

And while im at it i also want to thank all the users also (well....most of them anyways :)) for making this site interesting, helping pple with problems and so on.

Wasn't really visiting Gamespot before the Jeff scandal, but know I do visit Gamespot, and I like it. How twisted and weird is that?

I can also visit TV.com using the same account. That's both convenient and potentially hazardous if someone hacked my account.

Did anyone feel that the number of visitors to Gamespot went down due to the Jeff scandal? Cause it feels like it doesn't. The thread "We Love Jeff" has almost 700 pages, and the articles about him have lots of comments!

The only reason I am still here is to find out all the facts about the firing, (and of course account suicides ;)). Once there is more news, I will finally be switching over to gametrailers/IGN because their updates are just as good and there video reviews are slightly better. Jeff was my favorite reviewer of all time, and to hear that he got fired because of the Kane and Lynch review is horrible. And now JustPlainLucas is resigning from being a moderator (which again was my favorite mod). There is no reason to stick around here anymore. The news is delayed, the video reviews are sporadic, the reviews are biased and swayed by the advertisers, and the message boards are becoming a lot more hostile and repetitive. This is coming from a person who has been here for 4 years and have had 4 different accounts totalling over 1000 posts, so I may not financially support gamespot, but if only a few people visit this site, then the paid advertisements will stop, and in turn, Gamespot will lose money. Basic_Instinct

I like the community....I don't believe it was due to one review....and you have no evidence the other sites do business differently.
