I'm going to my work colleagues wedding reception this saturday, it's being held at a court house and the thing is that I have no idea whether or not it would be suitable to wear jeans, does anybody have any idea if this would be ok, there is no signs of what the dress code will be on the invite

If most people are coming from the wedding, you might be a bit out of place in jeans. At least wear khaki pants and a button-down shirt IMO.

Go for it, it's not like you're getting married.

Phone the person on the invite and ask them what the dress code is. Jeans are almost universally unacceptable at weddings, especially for people on the invite.

You really should wear at least khakis. I think if you show up in jeans you'll find out quickly that you're under-dressed for the occasion. Look at it this way: you can't be overdressed. There will be people there still in tuxedos from the ceremony.

Dressing up for weddings is normal, so if they wanted it to be casual, the invitation would have made that clear. When in doubt, it's better to be over-dressed than under-dressed.

Khakis and a dress shirt at a minimum. Where is the reception being held though?

Don't wear jeans, just don't. Ceremony or just reception, jeans are tacky. Wear nicer pants, black khakis are perfectly fine, and some nice shoes. I'd also advise wearing a buttondown in a solid color.

Jeans are probably acceptable as long as it is in a formal color, such as black, but is not recommended. Choose other types of pants with formal wedding colors and at least a wedding dressing and dress shoes should be acceptable.

Depends on where its at. Last reception I had to go to I had to wear a suit (place was classy) but I also went to the ceremony.
