It's another weekend! I'm taking over for thread responsibilities again this week.

How is your weekend going?

Mine has been depressing, but it's nice to have a few days off to unwind and take stock of things. I really feel like I need a "guy's day out" with some friends.

Work has been going alright, but I kind of wish I could work around some different people. I might try to hang out with some of the people from the other departments on breaks for a while, get to know some new faces.

Prostitution could soon be made legal and regulated in NY state. It's been talked about recently. I'm kind of hoping it will be. Tbh with the way people are nowadays, I think it's a needed industry. Everyone needs an outlet, and as of right now I don't think everyone has one. I know I don't. And hell, maybe that's the one thing that would make me stay in this lousy state lol.

I would like to go somewhere or do something tomorrow. I think I've gotta expand my pool of friends.

How you?

I didn't do anything special other then I wash my own car in 30% temp this morning and afterwards, just stayed inside at home and play games all day long. Let's face it, I have no life lol.

Mine wasn't all that special. Just ended up raking some leaves as well as continuing to rip the mass amounts of Blu-rays I own in order to create some kind of a digital back-up that's mostly compressed.

Probably will fit one more game in until Animal Crossing: New Horizons comes out. Just wondering what that might be.

@davillain-: How many of us are really alive anymore? lol

Winter hasn't been bad, but it's been bad enough. I'm ready for nice weather.

@speeny: I guess my feelings towards tv and movie entertainment are kinda indifferent anymore. I never really want to rewatch stuff anymore, unless maybe it's some old sitcom reruns on tv. Few movies are really special enough for me to want to see them again, and most shows take too much time to re-explore.

It's nice that you have it stored digitally, but for me I think it would still be clutter. Stuff I would barely revisit in the future. I guess it's because I sort of feel like after the first time you've watched it, you've seen it, and nothing will compare to those memories and initial impact.

As for gaming, I say don't force it just to fill a gap. You're in the mood to play Animal Crossing, and it will be out soon. Nothing else would really scratch that itch, right?

Yeah, you're right honestly. Especially considering how most games haven't really impacted me very much these days. So, maybe it's better to just hold off until AC is released. Guess I'm going through gaming burnout at the moment so a little bit of a break might do wonders. There's a lot of brainstorming that I need to do in order to work out town/island themes as it is. :P

Finished Chernobyl. Very good.

FINALLY watched Prince's concert film Sign o' the Times on Blu-ray, which was great. I quite liked Purple Rain, but it didn't funk and rock like this. I only wish the sound had been better recorded.

Finished volume 2 of V for Vendetta 30th Anniversary Edition, which has the chapter where Evey is imprisoned. I'm probably gonna watch the movie again after I'm finished. I last watched it about three years ago, and on TV long before that.

Played some more Sonic Mania. Playing the entire game again as Knuckles. Will see if I get all the Chaos Emeralds this time BEFORE beating the game. One of the better new games I've played in the last few years, which just reminds me how much gaming has declined. I honestly miss the simplicity of games like Sonic on Mega Drive. Thanks again for the key, MrBojangles25.

Went shopping.

Downloaded an improved version of Star Wars 4K77, version 1.4. It has better contrast and consistent colors than my old version 1.0. Space doesn't have raised blacks anymore in this screenshot.

SInce this thread about the weekend instead of just Saturday again, I watched Halloween 1978 on UHD and Lady SNowblood on Blu-ray Friday night after work. Halloween is better than I first gave it credit for. I've only seen it once previously, on Blu-ray (rental). I got Lady Snowblood because I remember liking the manga when I read it eight years ago and wanted more '70s samurai stuff after recently finishing the Lone Wolf and Cub series. I was not disappointed. The cinematography and sets in Lady Snowblood are so attractive.

I spent some hours yesterday going through redox reactions, trying to teach someone else. Mainly focused on a task about a silver nitrate solution and adding solid copper to it.

I also saw the "new" karate kid movie with mini Will Smith.

Didn't do much on Saturday. I started reading a new book, The Three-Body Problem by Cixin Liu. The first chapter takes place during the Cultural Revolution in China so out of curiosity I found myself looking up information about that time period, Marxism, communism, etc.

I watched some football (some of you might call it soccer), saw the movie Knives Out with my mum and then played some games with friends.

@speeny: See? It's best not to burn yourself out on stuff. :P I haven't read up on this new AC much, but I'm sure a lot of people are going to get it. I think especially with how stressful the times are, a lot of people want to play something more chill and fun like Animal Crossing right now.

@ezekiel43: I'm realizing that Prince put out like an album nearly every year from the start of his career til the end. (At least 30 studio albums?) I went on to read that Frank Zappa had 109 albums and Buckethead has like 300 plus. Just how???

I never read or saw V for Vendetta. I feel like I might appreciate it, but the whole fascism and anarchy thing would probably get too political for my liking. I thought about trying out Sonic Mania a few times, but I honestly just think I'm not a big enough fan of those games.

@watercrack445: Yeah, I guess it has been getting talked about a lot since last year, and it is seeming like it has a realistic possibility of happening. DC and Vermont are also discussing it, and possibly a few other states.

@horgen: Are you a chemist?

@johnd13: It's weird to imagine people years from now reading about these times. Hopefully where they're leading is ultimately good...

No, I have had chemistry in university though. Like basic level chemistry.

Today I read more of my book and once again played online with friends. Ordered Mexican food for dinner and now that I'm all full I'll probably try out Assassins Creed Syndicate, which I got free from EGS. Exploring a sprawling Victorian London setting sounds quite charming. Afterwards I'm planning to watch a Korean movie, The Quiet Family.

Worked Saturday, played DnD after work.

Today (Sunday) I just chilled.
