So I sold a phone to some person on craigslist, everything was going fine until he asked to see my I.D and then asked me if I could sign on a piece of paper just something that said: I sold this phone to (his name) signed (myname).

He said he needed it because sometimes when taking brandnew stuff to I think Australia or China he said, they ask for some kind of proof.

I just thought it was a bit weird.

Is anyone familiar with any of that?

Thank you.

That's a little weird to be honest. I probably wouldn't have showed him any identification, but then again I'm more paranoid than most people.

Seems fairly harmless, ID to prove the name you were about to sign and a signature so he could get through customs with it being considered contraband.
