Mccain has just pulled ahead of Obama in recent polls.

Great job. Only in America could people be too blind to see that Barack Obama is by far the better choice. Mccain's campaign consists of lies, and negative criticisms, yet has nothing which reccomends him to be a better president.

The world is crying out for change. Mccain is not about change, you might as well say "welcome back Bush".

I'd love to be wrong, but we all know that Mccain has got this election in the bag. Even if he hasn't, the whole fact that there's even competition is ridiculous.

It's just such a shame that for the most important elections in the world, the votes are wasted on Americans.

Go on, call me racist, call me ignorant. I'm just sick and tired of you guys electing idiots.

The elections don't have anything to do with me, but I'm going to say that experience defeats people with no or little experience.

I agree with you totally Sir.

I'm not for either candidate as i've stated before, but McCain is by far the lesser of the two. I can't understand why people seem to want another 4 years of Bush.

If McCain gets elected President, the entire country is in for four (more) years of epic fail. I really, really hope that the voters make the right choice when the time comes.

Sounds like you're knowledge of Mccain and Obama has come strictly from the media... and also way to put down all Americans, when the country is roughly divided by half for each candidate. Instead of insulting Americans, why don't you try to contribute to people's knowledge as to why they should vote for one candidate or the other.

It's your opinion of who you want to win. Just because the person you want isn't winning right now doesn't mean you need to get angry at the people.

Do the people really want change? Maybe they think Mccain will change more to what they want then what Obama wants to change. IF that makes sense to you.

Maybe it's just me but Obama seems too charismatic... Like he's turning on the charm just for the show. It seems patronising to me. He's tickling our fancy but as soon as he wins we'll probably see a different side to him.

I'm not American, so I could be ill-informed.

Obama and McCain will both surely bring the same amount of misery to my beloved country regardless of who gets elected.

If you think Obama is a better candidate, you are very wrong...

McCain will use his experience to continue Bush's failed policies and keep soldiers in Iraq indefinitely. This shouldn't be about who's been on the scene longer. It's about what's going to happen to the country in the future. McCain doesn't have any plans to improve the country because he's under the impression that we're doing just fine.

No, it's not strictly come from the media. To be honest, if i could vote, and the election was between a five year old, and John mccain, i would go with the 5 year old. If a man is endorsed by Bush, you know something's wrong. If a man isn't remotely thinking about trying to stop the USA's addiction to oil, you know something's wrong. If a man's believes that the USA can "win" in Iraq, you know something is wrong.

Why don't i contribute to people's knowledge? there is no point! You guys get worked up about Obama's "lipstick on a pig" remark! That has absolutely nothing to do with policy of who could be a better leader. People will vote for Mccain simply because they have a woman as VP.

I could give a comprehensive thesis of why obama is the better candidate, yet all it would take for people to vote mccain, is for Obama to get ONE WORD out of place. It's just so pointless now that i've given up.

Dont worry, just the post rnc bounce. obama has already pulled ahead again on at least one poll. oh yeah, the one that does popular vote and has predicted the winner for decades. it was reported earlier that if the election was today, he would win 57% of the popular vote, and that this would be more than enough to win the electoral vote.

It's not like either candidate is going to make the world a better place anyway. The problem with American politics isn't the President, it's the entire system, a problem that neither candidate is willing to or going to change.

alright. so your telling me that obama doesnt lie or say negative things about the other candidate. unfortunately all candidates will lie at some point to get votes. and of course there going to have bad things to say to make the other guy look bad. having either candidate is not the end of the world simply for the fact that in order to get a lot done they have to go through congress. hey what do you know the congress is mostly democrat at the time and is going to make it hard on McCain to move his agenda through washington. so good for you. stop being so dramatic i promise neither of the two are that great anyway.

A 5 year old better than Mccain... ok there... Why do you think he was endorsed by Bush... because they're REPUBLICAN. Any current Republican president would endorse Mccain... Mccain supports off shore drilling. Obama says alternative energy, but when asked if he has a plan he clearly indicated he did not have one, making an analogy to Kennedy and the moon.

If you feel there is no point in contributing to knowledge then you have failed us all. Why did people react by Obama's remark? Because that (if it was actually true and people thought it was) would show Obama's character. And character is an important part of being president, particularly in relations. And even if he did not direct it at Palin, he may have unconsciously... People are excited about Mccain again because he picked an excellent VP, unlike Biden. If you give up, then you might as well shut up. No offense, but really, thats what should happen. Give up=shut up.

I dislike both candidates, and dislike Obama moreso than McCain.

In my opinion, we need to decrease the government, get away from the 2 part system (we were never supposed to do this), establish a none-interventionist foreign policy while still having strong defense as well as trading, eliminate Federal income Tax, Privatize schools, privatize health care, eliminate capital gains tax, eliminate the federal reserve, establish a sound monetary system, stop with these bails outs using tax payers money, and above all DECREASE SPENDING AND STOP BORROWING MONEY FROM CHINA

This leaves me with no choices, and No, I don't trust Bob Barr.

There is so much mis-information, ignorance and flat out lies in this thread that it's almost unbelievable (even for gamespot).

To the topic creator... convince me. Why should I vote for Obama? What will he do that McCain won't? Why is Obama a better choice than McCain?

McCain is a very moderate canidate.. and that is a GOOD thing. You don't want to be too far left (like Obama), or too far right, either. A happy medium is usually the best.. and someone like McCain is not unwilling to work with the other side to get the things done that he thinks is right. He has worked with the democrats in the past. His VP pick, Palin, has even cleaned up corruption in her own party. They are both fighting to make the USA the best it can be, without a party bias. That's what we need.

You cherry-picked issues on which McCain agrees with Bush and ignored where they differ. Obama agrees with Bush on some issues too. Does that make Obama a bad candidate?

Maybe you should take a breath and relax a bit? Fuel is running out these days....You cant expect prices to stay low or go any lower. Colleges need the money for property taxes and all that other stuff.People loosing jobs is their fault or it is simply because businesses cant make sales or stay funded. The war was unnecessary, but America cant pull out now(possible invasions and attacks from Taliban's/Insurgents. Would you like a cup of tea?

[QUOTE="Meta-Gnostic"]Sounds like you're knowledge of Mccain and Obama has come strictly from the media... and also way to put down all Americans, when the country is roughly divided by half for each candidate. Instead of insulting Americans, why don't you try to contribute to people's knowledge as to why they should vote for one candidate or the other.Meta-Gnostic

If you feel there is no point in contributing to knowledge then you have failed us all. Why did people react by Obama's remark? Because that (if it was actually true and people thought it was) would show Obama's character. And character is an important part of being president, particularly in relations.

The point is that they have taken the whole thing out of context.

If there's one thing we should've learned from that last couple elections, it's that the president-to-be isn't necessarily the one with the most votes.

[QUOTE="famicommander"]John McCain is the only reasonable choice left. If you can't see the differences between McCain and Bush, then I hope to god you aren't qualified to vote.famicommander

So you're saying that clearly biased videos that cherry-pick issues and make actual, reasonable policies (such as privatizing Social Security) seem evil are how we should decide who to vote for?

wow strawmans arguement.

You cherry-picked issues on which McCain agrees with Bush and ignored where they differ. Obama agrees with Bush on some issues too. Does that make Obama a bad candidate?

Oh yeah, George Bush is the worst terrorist to ever live.

Stumpt25

Yeah, okay, but get over it already. There will always be war. There will always be leaders making bad decisions. It didn't start with Bush and it won't end with him...

And that excludes the fact that he, like any President, is just a puppet for other powers...

You forget that the USA isn't like the rest of the world. The rest of the world thinks one way, we think another. And so far it has been pretty damn successful, seeing how we are a superpower and all. Europe's economy is not as free as it is here in America.. and that works for you. What works for you isn't necessarily what is best for us.

[QUOTE="Vilot_Hero"][QUOTE="MicWazowski"]If McCain gets elected President, the entire country is in for four (more) years of epic fail. I really, really hope that the voters make the right choice when the time comes.Vilot_Hero

McCain has more experience than Obama. Wouldn't it make more sense to elect someone with more experience?

McCain will use his experience to continue Bush's failed policies and keep soldiers in Iraq indefinitely. This shouldn't be about who's been on the scene longer. It's about what's going to happen to the country in the future. McCain doesn't have any plans to improve the country because he's under the impression that we're doing just fine.

What's wrong with America?(Aside from the war mongers and such)

Poor Education, Prices of energy, gas, and college skyrocketing, people losing jobs, home forclosures, war, massive debt, etc.

I know, I know. It's hard to keep track of these things when McCain is more concerned with falsely accusing Obama of sexism and dodging the media instead of going into any detail on any of these issues.

"U.S.A is S.O.L and nothing can be done about it. Might as well vote McCain." Is that what you're saying? Even so, that doesn't changed the fact that McCain has avoided addressing these issues like the Plague. They are problems and it would be nice to hear something out of his mouth about how to solve them or, at least, deal with them. Obama has suggested ways to help with all the problems you just wrote off as "part of life". McCain has given up on the American people? Splendid.
